"but ultimately Microsoft has reached 50 million units before Sony this generation"
Well of course it did, it had a year + head start? common sense.
sales doesn't mean it's quality, or works perfectly or is producing great software
Sales are generally driven by marketing and advertising, or previous iterations of a product
I downloaded and played BFBC vietnam yesterday, its crazy how much better that game is in every way - in my opinion. IN contrast I rented black-ops, played it for a while and have not put it in since, it was appalling, I don't get why COD always seems to get a free ride, and why so many people love it to death
each to their own I guess
$500m marketing budget
easily hacked
there you have it, now its so easy to hack it'll sell tons to people wanting to experiment with the tech
Maybe they are planning on really pushing the remote play feature, so you actually can play most PS3 games via the PSP2??
I cannot see how people (millions) prefer COD over BFBC, its no damn good, destruction, vehicles etc just add so much depth to the game.
i guess it must be brand name?
Keep trying to bring GT5 down.
GT5 was not a failure, it doesn't matter how much you journalist wannabees try and and make out it to be.
millions have bought and millions are enjoying GT5, the most comprehensive real driving simulator on the market.
Still a great deal IMO, I have had more than the value easily already in discounts etc
from the press release:
"The number does not include sales of stand-alone PlayStation®Eye camera or stand-alone PlayStation®Move navigation controller."
havn't clicked the link, but really, do you see that when you are driving? (which is what this game is for)
But it has already been said, you CAN upgrade brakes on some cars?
Maybe NFS is a better arcade racer, but not a better driving simulator, which is what GT5 is.
I am not a car junkie, have not completed any of the previous GT games, but playing through this at the moment, even though I am on a low level this is no way a 6/10 game, crazy. It's actually very awsome and loads of variety, one minute a-spec, next nascar training, next go karting, it's great. That said, this is one mans opinion and that is his to have, although his mention of lack of damage again suggests he has not progressed very far in the game.
level 20 is still really early
when they say preliminary review, I do hope they actually mean they will give it a full review once they have reached the more advanced physics and damage etc....
nobody is saying play it over and over - but, I would have thought a review for any game can only be given when 1) it is completed, such as gow or something or 2) where they have reached the highest level, you cannot review a complete game, if you simply haven't progressed far enough to experience all that it offers
it'd be like reviewing COD multiplayer, but only progressing to level 2 and then complaining it doesn't offer killstreaks, or perks, or more powerful ...
This is brilliant.
Too many reviewers who are supposed to be professional get away with not playing a game through properly. GT5 has been knocked down in many areas, some are probably justified but others such as this damage just goes to show that reviewers are cutting corners.
People suspected it was dodgy that reviewers were releasing their reviews after only a couple of days with the game, now this just proves that point.
Good on Yamauchi...
the reason they nitpick is because instead of focusing on over 200 insanely detailed cars, they focus on the extra cars (clearly ported) that don't look quite as hot (but look fine in motion it must be said)
no, people base their fanboyism on reviews!
since when is 86 bad anyhow?
The person that reviewed this is entitled to their opinion.
other reviewers have given 10/10, said its incredible. fair dos.
however, weird statement:
"As a game on it’s own, it’s pretty average. But as far as the actual driving goes, it’s on top of it’s game."
...it IS a driving game
Not too bad, you get alot for your money
