Why is this question even asked anymore?
Core games = PS3 and 360. It is not completely Nintendo's fault. The majority of Wii owners don't buy core games. An unexpected result of success.
Started with Quake 1. Sadly I was a part of this back in the day. :( Quake 1 by itself wasn't popular enough to allow it to catch on at a widespread level. For that, you can thank Counter-Strike. Now we are teaching the Japanese bad language and grammar. Yay!

That would make sense if 360 were beating PS3 in America, but PS3 is beating 360 weekly in America as well.
This article is BS. I was never a casual gamer. From the age of 7 I played on the atari 2600 and got an NES shortly after. The hardest games ever were on the NES, and I was a kid... I still beat most of them. So we were not all casual. Casual is something that is new. Something that came after the SNES generation and amplified by the Wii. Right now I'm playing cross edge on hard and will soon be playing demon's souls, both insanely hard games. Casual is fine in itself, but don't label EVERYON...
Wii is getting destroyed in Japan. There is little hope of a comeback unless they release pokemon. NSMB will boost sales a bit, but after that what is there? Sadly the Wii is so far ahead, it doesn't matter much.

There is no way that the N64 had better games in its 3rd year than PS3. By that time 3rd parties had abondoned the N64 due to high cartridge prices. The 1st party titles were great, but the PS3 has so many must own titles that I can't afford ...
I am like you. Gaming since the Atari 2600, big time PC gamer. PS3 is the most well made console that I have ever seen. At least for what is included. My brother owns a 360 and has had to send it in 3 different times for repair. He still prefers it over the PS3. I just don't understand why. I have stuck by the PS3 since before it was released, and now that is starting to gain some momentum, I am even more proud to be a long time supporter. As much as I want that to happen, it won't. We are so lucky that most Wii owners don't buy it for hardcore games, or we wouldn't get good games on PS3/360. The Wii can keep on selling, but developers will still focus on PS3/360 for the big games. I still see this generation as PS3 vs 360. PS3 has a good shot of passing the 360 in about a year and a half. Also, it is very close to passing it in total install base in the UK. That leaves only America.

Ps3 outsold 360 by 100k for the year so far (before the slim). It will eventually overtake the 360. But not the Wii. You had to expect numbers to average out. What is interesting is it is still beating the Wii in Japan.
What is everyone arguing about? So a new bundle comes out and places in the top 20. Good for xbox. The fact is, PS3 will outsell 360 from this point on the REST of the life cycle. Its a fact. They have better judgement as to what makes a good game. I liked Matt Casamassina, but I always felt his Wii reviews were "fanboyish" and he gave games higher scores just because they were Nintendo, but to each his own. I wish him the best of luck.
I'd love for sales to stay in the 100k range until January. That would keep the Wii below PS3 even with NSMB and Wii Sports. After that, Japan should be all PS3. The PS3 is the underdog. It always has been and will be till the end of the generation. We all love an underdog story and personally, I always go with the underdog.
