no way you playing Crysis at 1920X1200 very high setting and AA. no way. unless you like 15-20 fps! Anti-aliasing kills this game
Owning 2 8800gtx in sli certainly helps. I can play it at 1680X1050 with some things on very high and everything else on high. Of course I modified the config files to play in dx9 with very high settings. dx10 freezes on me in vista. go figure!

downloading game right now. I loved the demo. Most fun I've had with a game in a long time. I disagree with his review. The game should really be reviewed on a high end pc to be a fair review. 25 fps on medium at 1680X1050. BS! I have a very similar setup and I easily get 50 fps at those settinga. This game is much more than tech demo. It's gameplay elements beat most fps games. I'm tired of linear, non-open gameplay. COD 4 was good but too short and too linear. as being that I have one and don't feel like buying PS3 just so I can play blue ray movies.
more than I've played some games. I was having some much fun messing with the ai. even with 2 8800gtx I can't max this game out graphics wise. I need more power.... 2 9800gtx should do when they come out.
washed out colors vs xbox 360. I think xbox 360 version looks a little better. every single ps3 game seems to have that problem when on same tv settings compared to 360. It can probably be corrected by changing tv settings but still. this is just an observation by me whether you guys agree or not. best version graphics wise will still be pc. higher resolution helps with that of course.

with what graphics will look like next generation on consoles (5-10 years out). crysis just can't be done on xbox 360 or ps3 it's memory requirements are too high. crysis levels are huge. maybe if crytek redesigned all the levels and use streaming technology you might be able to play it on medium settings on consoles but there is a big difference in graphics quality between medium and high on this game. high setting is what this game is meant to be played at. I copied and paste very high settings with high setting and it works!! Im running on vista but dx10 doesnt take advantage of sli. so i did the editing of config files bingo! Works alot better in dx9 mode. On my rig: QX6700 @ 3.2 ghz, 2X 8800 gtx, 2gb 1066mhz ram, vista I can run at very high settings at 1680X1050 rez getting 30-35 fps where on dx10 it would drop to 10-15 fps! dx10 is nothing but dx9 on very high settings. see robaloi post for precisely how to do it.

You may be right about it being slower but vista is definately more secure. On windows xp I would have to remove spyware all the time but on vista I have no need for spyware removal software whatsoever. I've also yet to get any viruses which I had to worry about on xp. As graphics drivers mature more on vista gaming will get better and better.
I have QX6700 @ 2.93 ghx and 2X 8800 gtx and 2 gb ram, vista. I can run at 1920X1200 no AA with everything on high in dx9 getting about 40-45 fps. play it on dx10 very high settings framerate drops to about 10-15 fps at that rez. I have to drop rez down to 1024X768 just to get 30-35 fps! it's not worth it.
I'd rather play at 1920X1200 on high. not much difference between high and very high. only thing I notice is you see the "god rays" coming thru the clouds and tree...

framerate stutter and/or skipping frames. stupid replays drive me nuts with 1/2 framerate of actual game. other than the stuttering its looks really good. it better drive as good as its looks
these screenshots are from the replay and replays always look better than in game graphics while actually driving the car. I would like to see actual driving screenshots not from a replay. I think the graphics would still be close maybe 80%. did sony say that the game runs at 1080P 60fps? that would be an amazing feat with those graphics
Everything about this game is insane!! I'm very impressed so far. Can't wait for the demo to see what my dual 8800 gtx's can do. This game has everything...gameplay check....Best graphics ever! check....physics check....multiplayer check....Advance AI check....Destructable environments check...high end computer to run said game check. Let me know if I missed anything.
PC version will blow away anything PS3 or Xbox 360 can come up with.
I have dual 8800gtx's, Quad Intel Core@3 ghz, 2 gb ram, vista and run the demmo averaging 80fps @1920X1200 4XAA. Awesome!
when you blow up the screen to 60" @ 1280X720 rez it won't look as good as on my 24" monitor. Of course my monitor is only a foot away versus my 61" HDTV at 8 feet away. I feel I get the same experience with games on my 24" monitor. The only thing I hate on xbox 360 are the games have very poor anti-aliasing (0X to 2X) versus my computer (4X to 8X). Plus I like FPS games with mouse and k/b.
to myth: 1080p 60" HDTV nice :) mine is only 720p 61" HDTV...

with very high settings hack. I get 30-35 with 1920X1200 very high no AA but try 4XAA and framerates drop pretty good. I'm running 2 8800gtx intel quad core 3 ghx, 2 gb ram, vista. I settled at 1680X1050 no AA shader,postprocessing,water,sh adows on very high and everything else on high. I get around 40 fps. I'm happy with that.
