Considering both Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop were paid timed exclusives for Playstation from Bethesda before the aquisition. I can see a world where Sony did the same to Hi-Fi Rush and Redfall had Microsoft not purchased the company.

Microsoft may have gotten games that otherwise would NOT have been coming to their system, at least not right away.

Also common Sony is doing the same thing with Final Fantasy this year, and the upcoming Silent Hill 2 and K...

Wait.. Okay but. Sure there's a lot to be said about the advantages of a set console and headset for developers. Being able to optimize and squeeze every ounce of performance out of the PS5.

However.

The 3090ti isn't just a little more powerful than the PS5's GPU. It's categorically in another league.. This tells me that Pavlov must be an unoptimized mess on PC more than it makes me impressed about the PSVR2

Oh right I remember this! Wasn't it like.. "HowDoYouTurnThisOn"

Something like that.. I remember as a kid making armies of cars, slowly typing that code over and over. good times.

This game has some legs wow, I remember playing back in the 90s. It works exceptionally well on controller, worth it for the nostalgia alone, and it still holds up well as a game in general.

I don't know why they bother anymore with these, but 'For the King' is an alright game.

Speak for yourself, I certainly want much more of this kind of game. Three levels in and it’s just incredible.

"Microsoft's heart is just not that into videogames as an artistic endeavor"

I mean.. Did you not see the Hi-Fi Rush trailer? If that isn't an artistic endeavor than I don't know what is.

It's not out tonight. It's out right the heck now, go download it. Very good so far.

Yeah though.. it’s a little weird. Clearly World had more detail and densely packed assets, but it was running on a far, far worse engine. REengine is incredible.

So rise looks worse, but you can tell it’s built on a significantly superior foundation.

Makes you wonder what a true sequel to World would look like on REengine.

Just coming back after the reviews dropped. Seems like the demo was extremely representative of the final product.

Idk. Did we ask any of the US based developers for comments on the Iraq war? After their government lied to justify entry and killed countless innocent civilians in indiscriminate drone strikes?

Not to play what-about-ism, what Russia is doing is horrific. But if you look at this from a principled state, it feels odd the hold a video game developer responsible for the actions of their government. And if you're going to do that, you should be consistent and do it for eve...

Okay so. But. Why release a demo if it's not representative of the final product? That seems.. really really counter intuitive.

I was excited for this game, the demo straight turned me off from preordering it. At this point I'm just waiting on reviews.. I really wasn't feeling it at all..

But here's the real question.. Will the EU or FTC approve this acquisition?

It's not clear in text, but if you watch the video he was being light hearted and joking when giving this line. It's clear that he's under a contract but I wouldn't read this as harshly as it seems in text, as he clearly was not being a dick about it when it was said.

That being said. It's totes coming to PC in six months.

To each to their own, I kind of like having a meta progression system for my games. I really don't get the impression that they are such a difficult or detrimental system to put in games.. In fact I think a lot of games just kind of phone them in. But some are really creative and add to the experience by encouraging and rewarding challenging ways to play through the game.

I don't agree with this take, they have only made my gaming experience more fun, and create a l...

Doom Eternal did it well. Full raytraced reflections at a locked 60fps. Looks great.

"But with that pace comes terminally-online burnout and a performance of despair that borders on earnest, yet too often settles into edgelord cynicism and the same tedious, punchdown humor as South Park"

I mean. If you're someone who finds the humor of South Park 'tedious' than clearly. Obviously. This game is not for you. However that is a question of taste, not a question of quality. Would I ask a reviewer who hates South Park as a series to review t...

I really liked the spell effects. But the visuals are so weird, everything looks fuzzy and pixelated.. I think it's that engine they are using, FF15 had that same slightly janky feel to it.

Also as others have said.. The dialog is rough. It feels like a bunch of writers in their 40s were trying to figure out 'what the kids these days say' it just feels so tonally disconnected to the situation. I really want to support a game like this, I think the actress hers...

That was a really good year. But I think Zelda deserved it. To this day I still can’t believe Sony launched Horizon right next to Zelda.

It’s almost as crazy as launching the sequel at the same time as a game like Elden Ring. Just insane I can’t fathom what the thought process was. Give your smash hit game some space to breath.
