Smash isn't a Wii U port. Anyone who thinks this with the amount of changes and content they've put into this game is delusional, pure and simple.
"Smash is always a staple of any Nintendo generation, though it will likely not outsell last year’s Mario Odyssey or Breath of the Wild."
Actually, Smash has the possibility of outselling both of those. Melee outsold Sunshine, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess (Gamecube release). Brawl outsold Galaxy 1, 2, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. Smash Wii U outsold Super Mario 3D Land, WW HD, TP HD, and BotW (Wii U release), and Smash 3DS outsold all the 3DS Zelda re...
There were rumors of a ALttP remake on the ALBW engine for the 3DS. Which I would honestly love.
Let's see here:
ALttP: 1991
Links Awakening: 1993
OoT: 1998
MM: 2000
OoA/OoS: 2001
WW: 2002
Minish Cap: 2004
TP: 2006
Phantom Hourglass: 2007
Spirit Tracks: 2009
Skyward Sword: 2011
ALBW: 2013
BotW: 2017
I wouldn't expect a full-fledged huge 3D Zelda title anytime soon based on that pattern, but a 2D one is a possibility.
What games do you own for your Switch?
In the last 20 years they have had the Nintendo 64, the Gamecube, the Wii and the Wii U for home consoles They've also had the Gameboy, the Gameboy Advanced, the DS, and the 3DS for dedicated portable consoles. Of course there is the Switch too.
Out of all of those consoles they've had 6 successes and one on track to become a success. That's a pretty good track record, honestly.
@2pacalypsenow @PhoenixUp
They advertised free games heavily with their online service, just as Nintendo is doing. Nintendo offers NES games for $20/year and Sony offered other games for $50/year, but they both used the free games as an incentive all the same.
What do you mean Sony never made a big deal of it? That was part of the whole advertising of the service. Subscribe to the service and acquire free games monthly that you can use until your subscription lapses.
It'd be nice if they also released it on Switch though. I get why they aren't. It's a cheaper port, reusing the engine for Dark Moon and porting assets over...but I'd love to play the game in HD. I'll still buy it for 3DS though.
Here would be my list:
1. RE 1: Remake
2. RE 2
3. RE 4
4: RE: Code Veronica
5. RE 3
6. RE 7
7. RE 0
8. RE 1: Original
9. RE 5
10. RE 6
Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild weren't the only two good Nintendo games (or Switch games) released that year.
"Nintendo games have been so mediocre"
That's a blanket and inaccurate statement, in my opinion. Many of their games are highly rated and anticipated.
I've never seen anyone talk about Herc’s Adventures! Loved playing that game co-op as a kid.
Actually, they did show gameplay of it running on the Switch last year. I can try to find the link if you want.
The game is already translated, so their wouldn't be much localization required. Just for some of the extra content.
You can still play it on-the-go without being in handheld mode.

Yeah, I checked and my NES-mini came with a power adapter. So did the SNES Classic. The only Nintendo system I own that didn't is my 3DS.
@xX-oldboy-Xx
Yeah, I'll go check my house once I'm off work in a couple hours, but I'm 90% sure that it came with an AC Adapter. One I don't use because I also have the SNES Classic and I don't need two spaces taken up in my outlet.
I'll follow up in a few hours and let you know :)
My Mini-NES came with a power cable.
I disagree. The Gamecube was a very "core gamer" system with great games. Many of them were much more mature than Nintendo's typical offerings. It was cheaper than the competition, and more powerful than the PS2. It was even easier to develop for. It only had one real flaw, and that was the mini-disks. It really did deserve more sales.
I believe Waluigi was actually introduced in Mario Tennis.
@FallenAngel
There were definitely some impressive titles for the Vita, but most games weren't really comparable visually for the console.
