Well, some people have really bad taste. Some people have really good taste. And some people are just completely random in their taste.

Opinions are, like, *super* weird.

I can only assume every gamer out there has already played Metal Gear Solid. I can't see any other reason why Ford would use it as the basis for a car commercial in 2016.

I have no idea what you're trying to say, beyond the fact that you think it's a good idea for a person to desire spending much more money on a port than much less money on an older copy, or no money at all.

Well, that's the kind of community gaming sites tend to foster. It's all about marketing, ya' know? There's a reason why N4G is always brimming over with anti-consumer nonsense.

Salty?

2959d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Of course not. I love remakes, and even indulge in the occassional remaster or port when the mood takes me.

Thing is, though, buying Starfox Zero and Starfox 64 is redundant. It'd be like buying Ocarina of Time for the WiiU virtual console the same day you buy the 3DS port. I mean, yeah, you could do that... but it'd be a redundant purchase, and from almost every perspective the shiny new release is going to offer a superior experience.

The 3DS game is a port. And all the reviews say Starfox Zero is a remake of Starfox 64. Same story, same setting, same characters, and many of the same stages.

Yes, it is an entirely different game... but that's because it's an *actual* remake, and not a port.

Not all gamers are idiot fanboys.

Just, you know... a huge fraction of 'em.

2959d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Because begging for remasters and celebrating the absence of backwards compatibility never gets old.

2959d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

Really not a big fan of RE games, but I absolutely agree. The REmake is fantastic.

Another go-to example would be Chrono Trigger on the NDS, which manages to be absolutely faithful to the original game while improving it in every way. The same can be said for the three Dragon Quest remakes on the NDS that Square-Enix commissioned before they went full-on stupid.

In a remake, everything is changed, even when you're absolutely faithful to the original... because you're re-making a thing.

Rereleasing and remaking are two entirely different concepts.

2959d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Because Zero is essentially a remake, so it'd be redundant.

Hundreds of games? Yeah. The WiiU and PS4 and Xbox3 can all boast hundreds of games, too. But most of 'em are disposable shovelware or irrelevant ports.

Instead of trying to fight back against clickbait and trolls with meaningless nonsense like "hundreds of upcoming games," it'd be better to actually mention specific high-profile upcoming exclusives. That way you both discredit the naysaying, and offer text that might persuade your fellow consumers. For exam...

I really like how the Vita has a robust and functional UI, almost-full backwards compatibility, and a solid library of exclusives... but sells like crap. Whereas the PS4 has exactly none of those things and sells like crazy.

2960d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Because the GCN was such a riotous success for gamers, with such a diverse library of games.

Mature games like GTA?

Uh-huh.

No, really, I'm keeping a straight face. Only barely, though.

Also LMFAO at this absurd notion that someone who genuinely likes RPGs wouldn't see anything in the WiiU's library. Clearly, no, you don't like RPGs... you might like casual games that adopt certain RPG mechanics or aesthetics... but no, you don't like RPGs.

Just don't buy Starfox 64.

2960d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

...It was definitely a weaker showing for the PS3 compared to the PS2 and PS1 libraries. I mean, unless you just have terrible taste, there's a pretty big difference between Final Fantasy 13 and Final Fantasies 5 through 12, for example.

Certainly, there were plenty of great JRPGs in the last generation... but that's mostly because they shifted platform from home consoles to handheld and mobile consoles.

2960d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

...Only if you ignore most of the other platforms.

But I guess this comment thread is mostly for people to fixate on the XB3/PS4 dynamic?

When there's an exclusivity contract at play, it definitely has to do with money.
