it doesn't have the onboard chip, nor does it have the api library to make motion control work. so what good is the camera without the software that makes it work?
that have not played with kinect yet. all opinions mean nothing if you don't have the experience.
The stuff that makes kinect work is the download that you have to do before you play it. All the data interpretation is done through software. All they did was give commands to a camera motor.

kinect is more than just a 3D camera it is a library of predictive motions based on the works of two phd's. secondly nintendo and sony did not turn down the tech behind kinect. they turned down the 3DVO tech kinect is based on primesense tech. MS brought 3DVO to avoid patent infringements. dont know if kinect will be good or not, but I do know that it is something new. ps eye may look similar but the tech and software are vastly different.
