I hope Rage gets a sequel with traditional MP. The gunplay in that game is amazing. Rage has the potentially to be a AAA franchise with the proper care
Spring is so jammed packed because it is a combination of delays and planned sequels
COD 4, takes it easily
The game is set all over the world. There is just a Middle East level.
Actually the 1st party exclusives argument has become the major talking point for Sony supporters.
And MS I would think are the ones not too concerned because MS makes way more profit with their exclusives.
Looks like the tax breaks are back. lol
Pretty sure MS has more first part studios than Sony right now.
EA said that they would show it later in the summer. Gamescon seems like the perfect time.
lolol. How can Uncharted fans be mad when Uncharted borrows from so many other games.
Yeah that Starbreeze. Almost the entire Riddick team left the studio and formed Machine Games because the couldn't stand working with EA. lol
Maybe Machine Games (the former Starbreeze Devs, that Bethesda bought in 2010) will be making it. Announce it at Quakecon
Edit: Nevermind I read the article again. Doom 4 is being debut at Quakecon this year. That's probably the game the PR firm is talking about
They really did to fix the camera.
Respawn said they want to make another "AAA blockbuster" but only like has 55-60 people working on the game right now. Until they go on a hiring blitz, no one should get excited about a possible release. This game is like 2-3 years away.
-Please go look at Respawn website, it list every single person that works there and their position. 5 people aren't devs (West, Zampella, a HR person, a QA manager and a CM). Most of the people of the staff are game designers, artist and software engineers. They straight up don't have the manpower right now to be in full production. My guess is that they the those designer are building the world and locking down game mechanics while the engine is being built.
No Stu...
Respawn only has like 60 people working at the studio (4 of which are not developers). They already stated they plan on the game being a AAA blockbuster and release on PC and consoles. They'll need another 80-100 people to make that happen.
During their hiring "blitz" they only picked up like 15 people, mostly artist. Do the math, this game is still in pre-production.
Doubt this game will see the light of day until late 2014. Maybe in 2015
The only CODs with weak campaigns have been the Treyarch ones. COD 2, COD 4, MW2 all had terrific campaigns and surprisingly even MW3 was pretty good. Treyarch campaigns have always been following the lead of IW, kinda excited that they're gonna be trying something new
People talk like MS lack of exclusives is a permanent thing. lol. Remember "PS3 has no games" from a couple years ago... When the next box launch, they will have the games.
MS has had a knack of picking console sellers (Halo, Gears, COD) and by the looks of it have a ton of exclusives in development right now.
A publisher or dev turning their back on M$ right now would be pretty stupid.
Hopefully it is a new IP in the Halo universe. Playing as marines or ODST's would be cool. And it would give them a chance to introducing new mechanics without people going ape shit
People love to shit on Bowling and calling his "creative strategist" title a glorified community manager but West, Zampella and the rest of the leads at the original IW would always talk highly of the job Bowling was doing, and out right would say that the information he relayed from the COD community effect gameplay decisions. And I hope this game is ridiculously successful, after having to deal with Activision management and the winners in the COD community, he deserves it
Have you guys forgot that MS is still a part owner of Bungie and had thr right of first refusal over this game. MS probably didn't pay a single dime for this timed exclusivity.
It is completely stupid to say the PS3 is "more rewarding" to work with. Devs take joy in shipping games, not finally getting something to work on the PS3 that has been running find on the 360 for months. Sony screwed Devs/Publishers royally with the PS3 and were unapologetic about it. It makes it even worst if you remember that development cost were already expected to skyrocket.
The PS3's issues never went away, people just got better at handling them. And sa...
