My old PC can run gears, CoD4 etc much better than the 360 and it's severly outdated now. The 360 will hit a brick wall in terms of graphics sometime in the next year or 2

Not really an impressive list when you count how many of those suck or are multiplatform
Last time I checked PC gamers were the only hardcore gamers out there, just because a console is full of generic shooters and has the most popular online service of all the consoles doesnt mean it's "hardcore" in any way.
- Military guy as main character? check!
- Focus on action rather than puzzles? check!
- Overdone graphics which try too hard and end up looking crappy? check!

I agree, but it's gonna be really difficult to create something like that, for me the greatness of mouse aim is to do with the stability of my forearm resting on my desk slightly.
I don't know though I'm sure they could surprise me with something, when I see it I'll be happy.

The graphics you see in most console games today have already been done a year or 2 ago on PC, it's nice to hear that they're moving forwards.
Until they stop making FPS games on a platform that wasn't built for them (consoles) and give me some actual console games then I'm gonna be playing FPS and MMO games on my PC.

Western developers believe they've surpassed them but honestly, they have a lot to learn. Dead Rising is probably the most fun I had on my 360 before it died and I traded it for a PS3, Halo, Gears, Oblivion etc were all flavour of the month and pretty much sucked in a lot of ways.
Give me a break, I run CoD4 all on full settings on my PC and it still doesn't look as nice as killzone 2, typical sony hating here. Call of Duty 4's engine is 5 years old with updates, if you play the first 2 games on PC there's more than a striking resemblance between them and the 4th game.
but why are all American designs so awful? the 360 looks ugly as sin and the dashboard looks like a cat ate a box of crayons for lunch and vomitted over the screen. This looks just as bad
CoD1 and CoD2 both had superior online modes which required skill, not this gimmicky stuff in CoD4 like UAV, Perks and no recoil. The CoD series has never been a great singleplayer title, it's simple run and gun gameplay has been popular though even if we were playing that kind of FPS on PC years and years before.
Games like CoD4 are the ones he's talking about, the lack of recoil in CoD4 is retarded compared to CoD2, Counterstrike or even the battlefield series. Not to mention the game is full of stupid gimmicks like shooting through walls, sprinting and UAV (built-in wallhack) it makes it way too easy to play.
I don't seem to recall all PS3 owners owning a 360 also, those who haven't played overlord now have a chance. Are you telling me if they made a port of Ratchet, Uncharted, motorstorm etc you wouldn't pick up a copy because it was a year old?
when the fudge would a PC gamer even want to play that crap with so many great shooters available already? it's a known fact that multiplat games always stink on PC (look at CoD4 and it's idiot friendly mechanics i.e. no recoil, perk gimmicks and other crap) it just doesnt suit the system, hardcore games only please.
Banjo 3 has been xboxidized, expect enemies touting guns & lame goatees, controllable tanks and rocket launchers

A good game is a good game regardless, playing a game more than you usually would for some childish virtual points aimed at children (and the unemployed) is retarded IMO. If a game is really great you'll play it again anyway, suffice to say though that I don't think I've come across one game this gen where I've wanted to play more than once.
Multiplayer modes are the way to go, if you don't put them in your game then why would people want to buy it when a lot of people know how to get it for free.

Half Life 2 (years and years ago, for counterstrike)
CoD2 (for the multiplayer)
CoD4 (for the multiplayer)
