I actually finished FFXIII and on the second playthrough found I actually liked the game.

Actually I have liked most of the FF games (I have not played FFIX unfortunately) and I do agree with you with regards to FFXV. Graphically IMHO FFXV is excelent but for some reason I just could not get enthusiastic in playing it.

As for "turn-based", I prefer active and real time although to be fair "turn-based" is a real plus especially when con...

I assume you are talking about "Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness" which I do have and am still playing. IMHO it is a good game but for some reason I still prefer "Star Ocean: The Last Hope" that I played on my PS3.

As a side note I have "Star Ocean: Till the End of Time" (PS2 version) which I played on my first gen PS3 but unfortunatly the Australian version of the PS3 did not have full backwards capability like the US version did. I got...

I actually have a 1TB USB drive which I originally used for backup purposed on my PC that I have connected to my PS5. Basically I use my USB drive for PS4 games which are played directly from that drive and for PS5 games I play directly from the inbuilt SSD (you don't have a choice).

Of course that are some PS4 games which do benifit from be played directly from the SSD in that loading times are dramaticaly reduced although that will depend on the game. An example of th...

Well you could have differnt skins and play attibutes per extra characters which (correct me if I am wrong ) you have to pay real money for. :-)

It depends on the game. Take for example "Horizon Zero Dawn: Forbidden West", "The Witcher 3" and "NioH 2" all are over 90GB for the PS5 and the PS4 editions.

Granted that there are PS5 games that are much smaller than 90GB but like I have said before that depends on the game, the compression method used, graphical fidelity and a whole host of of other atributes that must be taken into account.

Wow talk about nostaliga. I actually do have some of those games and many I have not finished.

While some PC gamers don't mind waiting for a PC port of a game that would nomally be initially developed for the PS5 I think many get impatient (of course it would be interesting to see a valid survey re that).

If you are a PC gamer then you should not mind spending a few thousand dollars on a decent PC and (of course) an excelent monitor. Since the price of a PS5 is normally a lot cheaper than some PC graphics cards why not get one and connet it to your "excelent...

Personally I have played many hours of Genshin Impact and enjoyed it, however the bigest turn off (at least for me) was the push/hint of paying real money for extra features so eventully I just quit the game. I have not played Honkai Star Rail but I get the feeling that it won't be that much different in trying to get you to pay real money.

There are plusses and minuses for physical and digital game purchases. Yes I do agree you can sell a physical copy of a game but how much do you expect to get for said physical copy?

Of course when selling a physical game you are not going to get back what you originally paid. In fact if you purchased a game that was very popular its resale value may be so low that it may not be worth reselling. The opposit may be the case if you originally purchased a rare game that in a f...

If you are only going to play PS5 games exclusively then yes you will most likely need a 2GB or 4GB SSD in the fairly forseable future. But if you play PS4, PS2 and PS1 games then a USB hard drive for those games is a cheaper option.

I have my PS5 laid down with a USB hard drive underneath and it looks aesthetically pleasing.

As long as you insert a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD (with heat sink) into the storage slot of the PS5 pretty much any brand having those specifications will work. In addition you can still connect a USB hard drive and play PS4 games from it although to play a PS5 game you must install it on the SSD (either internal or expansion).

Note:1 Before purchasing an SSD for your PS5 please check its specifcations and if it will work.

Note2: Some PS4 games do benfit ...

That's strange. I have been playing the PS5 version of "The Witcher 3" (fully updated) for over 40 hours and have not had any issues with it.

I suppose I do have a nit pick. I selected the updated Nilfgaardian Armor which IMO is weird so I changed back to the the orignal and lost about an hours play time (oh well I still had fun though).

BTW. If you like the Nilfgaardian Armor that is in the TV series and can be select in the game then fine....

I played through FF13 twice and on the second playthough I actually started to like the game. As for FF15, I do have the game but I really can't get that interested (maybe sometime later). I even have FF7 Remake (thanks PS+) but have only played the demo (great graphics though).

I have played the Diablo 3 demo and while that game is IMO a great adrenaline rush I actually prefer RPG's which includes all the Souls games as well as NioH 1 and 2, Horizon Zero Dawn... ju...

I have not played NioH 2 yet even though I do have it. I just recently got a PS5 and have upgraded my PS4 version of "The Witcher 3" to the PS5 version (it's free) and that game along with "Horizon Zero Dawn" is taking up hours of my time. I also restarted NioH 1, Dark Souls 2 and 3, Bloodborne and I also have "HZD The Forbidden West" although I don't want to start that untill I have finished HZD. Sigh!

BTW. In NioH if you get the Onm...

If you have the PS4 version of The Witcher 3 you can get the PS5 version for free although you will have to download about 100GB. Of course if you had the PS4 BluRay of TW3 then you need to put it in the PS5's BluRay drive (assuming you got the PS5 with the BluRay drive) to authenticate. If you got the PS4 digital version of TW3 then you can just upgrade.

With regard to my PS5 I have a seperate 1TB USB disk drive which I normally use for PS4 games. When I upgraded the ...

Dead Space is a great game and I have it for the PS3 so I am not that interested in getting it for the PS5 (unless it becomes a PS+ game or dramatically drops in price).

The problem is that I have too many games although I am keen on getting and playing Elden Ring. Sigh!

For the PS5 Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West is about 180GB* (not installed yet) and NiOH 2 is approx 91GB (again not installed yet). What is kind of strange is the PS5 version of "The Witcher 3" is actually split between the PS5's SSD and my 1TB Hard Disk that is used for PS4 games with approx 50GB on each storage media.

** What is unusual is the fact that before I connected my HDR monitor the install size of HZD Forbidden West was supposed to be about 90GB. ...

You really need to have some knowledge of simple Boolean Algebra if you want to play Final Fantasy 12 and have the ability to make modifications when fighting a boss. Sure you can go turn base but the the shear number of enemies you have to fight would drive you mental.

Also turning off those attack lines in FF12 is IMHO essential (some players don't mind them) and can be done in the settings menu.

I actually liked FF4 through FF8 but unfortunately mi...

I don't think this would work if you are playing an online game either in co-op or PVP. It's kind of like "sour grapes" to pause the game in that kind of senerio.

Take any of the Souls games where you are fighting an enemy (online or even offline) as an example. Pause the game and effectively the game gives you a single finger salute and you can unpause back at a bonfire minus your souls.

That said there are many games that you can pau...
