Glad to see the edit to "Mario's cape" in the article. Seriously, I was trying to help you the whole time...
I tried to warn you...
Perhaps you should have proof read after replacing Super Mario Bros. 2 with Super Mario Bros. 3?
No reason to be sardonic... especially when you are wrong. Mario Bros. was not "mostly played in Japanese arcades" as your "opinion" states- In fact, it did not do well at all in Japan but it was a success USA arcades. If you would have asked anyone alive at the time they could tell you that every arcade in America had Mario Bros. You state that "SMB3 introduced the overworld map and some awesome powerups like the super mushroom and fireflower" yet SMB3 did not i...
A bit of advice from the King- Please sir... Do some research before you write your next article(and a brief visit to wikipedia doesn't count). Particularly if it is going to be on such a well known topic as Mario games. Otherwise, you may be submitting yourself to a flame war.
"maybe YOU should read my comment again"
-The King of Video Games takes orders from no one!
Perhaps you should read the article. I did... and I did not see much "bad criticism" in at at all. I saw a Mario fan give a review gushing with heartfelt honesty. I commended HER honesty based on the content of the review not the score.
You're review echoes mine @ www.kingofvideogames.com (also here on N4G) so I agree and applaud your heartfelt honesty... One thing though, I always thought Mario says, "It's a go time" not, "It's a good time" when he enters a level.
Yeah, I saw that, too. It really just fuels the fire for me (after all that was posted 8/6- just how many weeks are we to keep our eyes open?)... seems like speculation until we get some solid info (plus it has the "rumor" tag on the site). Heck, I would settle for a 25th anniversary Ice Hockey!

I talked to a Nintendo rep. this week (I had an issue with a Wii Shop download). Since I had him on the phone I asked about WiiU launch date.He said that although the official date had not even been revealed to them yet, I should expect a "November release, just like the original Wii." The Wii came out Sunday Nov. 19th 2006. I predict Sunday, Nov. 18 2012.
No Chrono Trigger= list fail
I think we need the original games and consoles because of the interactivity involved in this media. Even the recent Genesis games on PSN (and the SNES remakes on the GBA) seemed to be a bit "off" in the controls. Yes, I will buy every new form of Star Wars and such (VHS, DVD, Blu Ray) and I will buy remasters of albums I like (though audiophiles despise most of them because of brickwalling)I still need Super Metroid and Tecmo Bowl in their original glory. Besides, as controllers ar...
I second the suggestions for Mutant League Football and 989's PS1 Gameday's... how's 'bout NFL Football on the Intellivision and Joe Montana Sport's Talk Football and Genesis, too?
BTW (bring on the hate)but NFL 2K5 is overrated.
He didn't mention this in the article but MK also had a residual controversy in the home versions because Nintendo did not put blood and the gorier fatalities in the SNES version. This led to huge sales for the Sega Genesis, fueling the 16bit war. When MK2 was released for home systems the SNES had a far superior version to the Genesis. Due to a change in Nintendo's policy on blood and gore, the SNES version had everything the Genesis did plus better sound and graphics (still an awesom...
Retro City Rampage..... anyone..... is it ever coming out.... for anything....?????
If there was a way for me to agree with your post multiple times, I would. I have a vast collection of every Nintendo console's games and for every "Contra" cartridge there is a "Miracle Piano" and "Donkey Kong Jr. Math" cart. It has always been this way, why this topic continually trolls around the internet is beyond logic...
Yup, due to continued software support people kept buying the PS1 after the PS2 came out and the PS2 after the PS3 came out but it looks like new Wii titles are running low. I do not recall many people buying the GC after the Wii came out or the XBOX after the 360 was released either (no new software for these two).
It is something when you consider how used to motion gaming we have become in the past 6 years (for better or worse). We had Excitetruck on the demo Wii at EB Games and everyone who picked up the Wiimote for the first time was a bit "freaked out" by the experience. The Wii has had its ups and downs but I am glad I bought one launch day. Zelda, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, No More Heroes, Deadly Creatures, Excitebots, Metroid Trilogy, DKC Returns, both Kirby's, the sweet selections on t...
Since the Power Pad was made by Bandai, I didn't include it on this list but its place in history as a precursor to DDR pads and such cannot be forgotten.
Maybe we will get a Bazooka style gun for the Wii U to honor the Super Scope!
