Plus many of the screenshots are incorrect, too.
honestly, I did not expect a new Donkey Kong game... I thought Retro's "secret Wii U game" was going to be Metroid or maybe Mario Kart (since they did the 3DS version.).
at least Wii U owners got the best version of Need for Speed Most Wanted... Don't EA's exclusive NFL rights expire soon? Perhaps another developer will jump in and make a better football game anyway.
my first console was an intellivision 2. got it for Christmas in 1982 and still get video games for Christmas... they just come from my wife now.
It is the pride of my video game collection. I ended up dropping about $175 on a copy 10 years ago. I will never forgive myself for seeing it used at a Funcoland in 1999 for $49. At the time I thought that was too much for a used game.
what? A great avatar, cool name, and intelligent comment and you still get a disagree... What has the internet come to?
Panzer Dragoon Saga. I will never forget this full page ad Sega put out when the game was released. It featured a cut out paper mask of Edge (the game's hero)and mocked the fact that only 6000 copies were being produced. The mask was for people to wear and pretend they were in the game since it was so hard to get a copy.
Yes it is the rerelease from 1990 featuring Mr. Dream.
don't forget to wear clean Calvin Klein's
Kirby's Dream Course...
Best Buy and other retailers used to fuel the fire by advertising SNES games one week and Genesis the next week in their Sunday ads.... The good old days!
I agree with you. The game is 30 cents 'fer cryin' out loud (32 with tax). No left over points or online wallet money, an honest to goodness 32 cent charge to my credit card. Plus we have Super Metroid coming down the pike, too. One of the greatest games of all time and a game that would set you back at least $30 for a used cartridge. As far as emulations go, F-Zero on the Wii U Virtual Console is one of the best I have seen so far. Nintendo even listened to the PAL market and gave th...
Top 5 for me-
1) Killer Instinct Gold
2) Super Mario 64
3) Super Smash Bros.
4) Ocarina of Time
5) Tetrisphere
SNES controller- Introduced shoulder buttons, had the best D-pad (in size and responsiveness) and just felt great in your hands.
c'mon gang... the forklift driving was a bit tedious to say the least.
Yup, this game and Dracula X are the only video game soundtracks I have ever purchased (not including the ones that come with "collector's editions"). The sparse drum beat song in the prehistoric world is often overlooked whenever anyone mentions this game but it is probably my favorite track.
At least we can get all these games in their glory pretty easily today. But the arcade experience can't be replicated. XBAND did a decent job in the 90's but that was probably made a bit sweeter because we still had the option to go to arcades as well as play online.
I got Burgertime, Pitfall, and an Intellision II console for Christmas in 1982. You can bet I hardly got any sleep that Christmas vacation. It has only been rivaled by last year when my wife gave me Skyrim, Sonic Generations, Uncharted 2&3, LA Noire, and Skyward Sword... Heck the year before that she gave me a ton of games, too. Thank God for Christmas and for all the great games each year!
@mcstorm whoa whoa whoa... I get your point but don't throw the Sega Saturn under the bus with the likes of the 3DO and Jaguar. The Saturn had excellent games, is durable as heck (mine still works just fine), and took online gaming to the next level- going well beyond what the XBAND did for the Genesis and SNES. Sure, it got trounced by the N64 and PS1 in sales but that does not make it a "worst console" candidate.
I tried the first Pikmin when it came out and didn't love it as much as others did but I will certainly get this game to add to my Wii U collection... By the way, to all the Wii U haters out there, said Wii U collection will be growing quite well this fall and Holiday season.
