I'm still having plenty of fun with the current gen consoles, so if nothing is announced at E3 this year and I get to squeeze another year out of current hardware, I'm just fine with that.
NPD is a U.S. only number. On top of that, it doesn't cover online sales numbers and sales at a good number of brick and mortar retailers, so it's very much an incomplete picture of overall sales in the U.S.
Sony is also very much a Japanese company that takes worldwide sales into higher regard than U.S. only, which Microsoft, a U.S. company, is happy to parade out since it's where they sell the most consoles.
Corporate fanaticism mostly. Somehow these corporations have become the football teams of console gamers. It's kind of creepy, but it's kind of a sign of the times.

I would love to see some added single player content to these games. I have zero interest in the MP, but if they would throw in a 1-2 hours SP campaign add-on, I would eat it up.
I always find it weird that so many people look back favorably on Black. I love Criterion, but that game was 90% "dude is standing by a barrel, shoot barrel, barrel explodes, kills dude". While I'd like to see Criterion make an awesome FPS, I never though of Black as one.
It was my favorite barrel shooting sim of 2006.
Original Killzone was kind of a mess.
This $10 version is fine if you want to experience the backstory without buying a PS2 and picking up a used disc, but if you're going into it for great level design or controls, save yourself a tenner and just read a wiki.
Vita has one of the most promising launch game lineups for a new system in like a decade, if not longer. It'd be a shame if it didn't do well. I'm buying one just for Uncharted, because I love that series and have heard great things about the Vita game, but there are at least half a dozen other games coming out launch day in the U.S. that I'm looking forward to checking out at some point.

As a Denver resident, I am so tired of Tebow. I hope they lose this weekend just so I can get a break from hearing his name for a few more months than I normally would.
I actually just pre-ordered a Vita, had around $279 left on a Visa giftcard I got for XMas, been using it for random stuff like lunch and gas, figured I'd better drop some of it on something substantial before I use it all up on "non-gift" stuff, so I used it to pre-order the Vita on Amazon. Was $1 and some change short of being able to buy a $30 game on it as well. Ah well.
I don't click on articles that just sound dumb and self serving. I'll comment on it here tho: Sony has consistently supported previous generation consoles for a decade or more, no reason to believe they won't do the same with the PS3.

You should totally play the PC version if you want to lose your save game files at some point because you actually decided to do all of the Riddler Challenges. A lot of people have lost their saves at the end trying to finish them up. I'm personally 51% done, but I've stopped playing until hopefully they fix this issue with the game saves.
Game looks and runs great, but the threat of losing your saves to a flaky Game for Windows Live system scares the hell out of me. ...

As someone who dug Demons Souls but haven't had a chance to check out Dark Souls, I would totally buy Dark Souls on the PC.

EA - Pulling shady shit since forever.
Most if not all of these are already out on PSN, looks like the only "exclusive" part is that they're jamming them onto a DVD for people who don't connect their 360 to the internet to play.
Also, looks like Capcom continuing to milk the same tired games over and over again instead of releasing something new and fresh.
Just like in the case of the PSN breach, if this is true, hopefully it'll be resolved in a way to not cause people a lot of financial problems.
People love to use these situations as a reason to pit one console against another, this is not about MS or Sony, this is about the assholes who go out of their way to constantly push the boundaries of security for their own personal and financial gain.
