Ronin picked a really bad time to release. It arrived a week before Dragon's Dogma 2 and was blown out of the water in pretty much every way.

You can literally edit your character using in-game gold, dropped from monsters or obtained from selling items, as soon as you reach the first main town. You can even use Rift Crystals obtained from other people using your pawn or dropped from monsters to change your entire character or Pawn. It's paying to avoid doing something that is literally in the game.

Probably helps that Skull and Bones showed off just how poor a pirate game it ended up being. Sea of Thieves scared it during development and is going to nail it in the coffin with a PlayStation release now that it is finally out.

As per usual with this site and no one reading the actual article, Toys for Bob is indeed going independent but will be "exploring a possible partnership between our new studio and Microsoft" from the company's own statement.

You need an account for literally anything these days. You need a Nintendo account to mess with any of Nintendo's side games let alone Microsoft. You need a Steam account to play a Sony game on Steam, GoG, Epic, etc. God forbid people have to make an account that is completely free.

It was never just PlayStation and Nintendo. Even before Xbox launched there was Sega as the third option. In fact, before PlayStation even was an option there were more consoles than ever.

"This early-access game that just launched a little over a week and a half ago looks nothing like the concept trailer they showed for it, I want my money back that I didn't actually spend."

It is annoying for games but when it comes to PCs, it has become the norm. You have to either custom built or pay extra to have a CD/Blu-ray drive installed into your computer now these days and a lot of cases don't even come with a slot for a disc drive. Consoles should always keep this option but it's starting to become a trend.

If they are the only one "filling a void" then they should try to be perfect. Instead they have some of the worst customer service around, often straight up ignoring customers with issues, constantly delay releases or release shoddy quality products, and more. And what's the alternative? Digital only? Oh no.

They snap up licenses for countless releases, often announcing ten games at a time and then delay them for years. Manufactured scarcity is never a good th...

Doesn't help that Limited Run Games is an awful company with terrible turn around time and even worse business practices. Maybe if they spent more time actually making their company meet expectations and perform properly they wouldn't need to throw other company's under the bus. Never buy from LRG.

This is a fishing patent. Nearly any game on both PS5 and Xbox allows players to start the game after a certain amount is downloaded. Sure, it usually only involves character creation or the tutorial level, but unless its an indie game they have this feature already.

I mean, If they are doing something like... download the first half of the game and play it, then delete the first half and download the second half and play it, to try and save space then sure, but I don'...

I wonder how the reasonable users here at N4G will react to this news?

You mean the "most violent" game we have only seen one forty-five second teaser of? Plus if they call it "darker" than Spider-Man it isn't exactly pushing the envelope considering the Spider-Man 2 only had a few slightly dark moments compared to your usual game.

Don't get me wrong, if they pull a Dead Island 2 or Dead Space with the amount of gore Wolverine can turn people into it'd be amazing, but let's not put the cart before the horse...

Now we just have to hope that Shift Up won't have to delay their upcoming games further to "update" them to Sony's new "standards of decency."

I know people here won't care, but considering the game is on Game Pass, if you have Game Pass, you'd be playing it through the Xbox App, not on Steam. As such it wouldn't even count a Steam player count compared to something like Skyrim.

It's always click-bait headlines here. The game is described as "second-run" because it literally released on PC first. Meaning the second-run is the console version, but no... people literally cannot comprehend that. Sure, they way underestimated the popularity of the game but so did nearly everyone else when it was still in early access and only had Act 1 available.

Didn't we literally just have articles a month ago about how Baldur's Gate 3 came ou...

Was going to agree with this guy, especially since you used to be able to rent a console from video rental stores from time to time, but then I saw he sold his console for a tattoo... In what world do you need a tattoo over being able to play some of the biggest games around? Especially since the console wasn't exactly easy to find for a long time.

Barely a competition. PlayStation Stars offers some fun little challenges and visual rewards but as for actual rewards, unless something changes, the amount of money players need to spend to get even the cheapest item is ridiculous. Microsoft Rewards points can be earned without even using an Xbox as "Bing" searches and various computer challenges provide plenty of points that can easily earn $10 a month.

In what world would a developer actually say that they are making a cash grab of a game. Of course it is a cash grab with less content and some prettier graphics for a higher price than the game was ever released for.

This is a far better option as it lets the actual dialogue choices be ridiculous at times. Prevents things like Fallout 4's voiced dialogue being all the same choices only worded slightly different.
