I agree with you. It is a very well done game with tons of content. If not for the MTs and progression it would be fantastic. Still lots of fun in SP and MP but even more if you're a fan of co-op and offline action against bots.
I was very excited for Visceral's SW game. Cancelling the game and closing the studio were terrible moves. I'm glad this whole thing backfired.
On a side note, I would love to have sat in on the board meetings at EA for the past 2 weeks. They had to be some entertaining stuff.
You are spot on. This is not their own IP that they can do whatever with. They have to answer to Disney as well as gamers. They have to stick to the plan and look as accommodating as possible or they will lose a lot more. Star wars will sell just off name alone. Half your marketing is already done no matter what the product.
They lost this one. There is no where else for them to go with it and nothing else to do. They have to suck it up and HOPEFULLY... learn a valuable les...
That is an excellent point I hadn't thought of. They were banking on having these cash cow multiplayer games and that seems to have gone up in smoke. They will be under intense scrutiny for every upcoming game. Everything came together in the most hurtful way and they will be paying for it long after battlefront II. I'm glad because I was really looking forward to Amy's/Visceral's SW game.
It's great for gamers because the whole industry learned a lesson...
Luke's face looks a little rough but overall the game looks pretty spectacular on my TV. The HDR really adds something compared to the first battlefront. I haven't played battlefield so I can't comment on that.
I liked it. Nothing ground breaking but it was enjoyable. Longer than I thought. Everyone said 5 hours and it took me 8.5 hours. I wasn't speed running and like to see scenery here and there though. The offline against bots has been the most fun.
Lol that was hilarious. Too bad it went right over Bryan's head. Some people take things too seriously.
For now they are doing the right thing. If they start screwing gamers again then continue the criticism but as of now we should be happy about the changes. We have to wait and see what they come out with next. This has been huge in the industry as every company has surely taken note of what could happen.
I agree with you Tank. It is a great thing that they have taken the MTs down. Maybe they will come back with something shady... maybe not. The pressure is definitely on them to keep the consumer in mind. We need to wait and see.
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds fun.
Is arcade mode the offline against bots? Is it like galactic conquest in the OG BF II or is like the offline mode in the recent battlefront?
That's exactly what I was thinking. Want to repair the bridge with players? Get rid of that bs and boom... bridge open.
UC4 was quality from a technical perspective but the game itself was the worst of the series.
Uncharted 3 was better than 4. It had Chloe and I liked Cutter better than Nate's loser brother. Aside from Madagascar, I liked the ship levels and plane/desert better than the levels in 4. Also raef was a joke with his Little Man's Syndrome acting all tough. I was always just shaking my head at him.
@ocelot: You got a laugh out of me. I'd say your observation is spot on. As a PlayStation fan with no animosity towards the Xbox One or X, I do find it amusing how each side goes back and forth with ever changing arguments.
"I did everything there was to do in both the Division and Destiny in 3 sittings, then I never touched them again."
You platinumed the division in 3 sittings? It took me months. Or am I misunderstanding when you say you did everything there was to do?
The Division was great for campaign Co-op with friends but I always hated the gank-fest that was/is the dark zone.
Also, does this mean Visceral's Star Wars game is still in ...
That was impressive! Not every Sony fan is hateful. I've never owned an Xbox console but that makes anyone a little jealous. This will open great doors to push gaming further. All you Xbox fans... Enjoy.
@moldy: I would love to see what red dead redemption would look like.
Another gun grabber thinking if we eliminate guns then everyone will stop committing crimes, and most of all, stop killing each other. It will be nothing but rainbows and unicorns in the socialist utopia. Guns aren't the problem... as always it's people.
You guys in other countries aren't missing much. This is actually really disappointing. Especially that it doesn't apply retroactively. I like to chase trophies but this will take a long time to be beneficial. Sucks!
@Vrabstin: or are they being super crafty?... Everyone expects them to do what you are saying (that would be my plan) but they do the opposite. They are doing the unexpected. Those sly buggers :-p
