If Nintendo releases this so called Wii 2 in 2011 or early 2012...and the system is more powerful than the Xbox360 and PS3, then Nintendo has a winner here because by all indications, Sony and MS will not release a new system until 2014 or late 2013. This gives Nintendo a few years with a system that potentially has more power than the Xbox360 and PS3.
Make it fully backward compatible with 1-2 gigs of ram and a DX11 class GPU inside with Shade...

If this is true and MS and Sony do not release a system until 2014 and Nintendo can release the Wii 2 in 2011-2012 with a DX11 class GPU, 1gig or 2gigs of fast ram with full backward capability costing $299, then Nintendo has some clear sailing and MS and Sony should worry.

Here is why:
The PSP GO does not play UMD games. It only plays games via download. Sony has made NO mention of them containing to makes games via download for the PSP GO. As of now, when a PSP game is released, ,many times the digital version comes later, much later or not at all.
So if you own one, and PSP games are released without its digital counter part...then you are screwed.

And yet the games you just mentioned use no real time lighting at all and some of them do not even use HDR or uses a destructible environment looking and running like the PC version(Crysis 1,2,Warhead, BFBC2,BF3)
Then the rest are fully linear...and the others have FIXED camera angles and STATIC BACKGROUNDS with little to almost NO interaction with said backgrounds.
So when the PS3 or Xbox360 can run a game like BF3, Crysis, etc at 50FPS-60fps using REAL AA and REAL HDR runnin...
That was fast for the PSP GO. And people bashed MS for killing off the Xbox1 after 4 years LOL
You might not like the tone of his post but he is stating a fact.
The only games on consoles that run 1080p are PSN or XBL titles for the most part.
GT5 is not running at 1080p.
If this is true and the Wii 2 specs have more gumption than the Xbox360 and PS3, this could be a major coup for Nintendo.

Carmack does not hype his games. He does not need to.
His work speaks for itself when he creates a game engine. This game engine will be no different. Few developers can claim this and continue to do what Carmack and ID has and continues to do FOR SO LONG.
I have faith that the tech behind this game engine will be stellar and set marks for technology in key areas.
Most developers this generation and last and even further back cannot claim this.
This game was not the lead platform for the PC...unlike DICE PC direction. You can tell right away Crysis 2(It's still great) was fully consolized.
