It's difficult to judge because story is such a major factor in MGS games.
Let's just assume gameplay evolved and graphics got progressively better with each game, as we can all agree.
Story wise MGS1 was the most heavily influenced by Tom Clancy novels, as Kojima was reading a lot of those at the time, and it became the most classic story that made the most sense. It was also the most American story, being heavily influenced by American novels.

Agreed. However I wish the target wasn't some enormous frame rate that you need a special HDMI cable to actually see, and TV with 240 hz rating, but rather better graphical fidelity, better visual effects, GT sport looks smooth but everything looks a bit bland and dated, particularly the tracks which have been around since GT1. I mean the trees are just 4 polygons if you zoom in on them, just looks ancient.
This is true, although in terms of sheer talent you can look to see who is working there and compare to who worked at Criterion back in its hay day, and see which developers and creative people were hired on and what experience they bring to the table.
Otherwise we're just speculating as to the talent who will be working at Criterion for their next NFS.

The developers mentioned they delayed it because they can't get it running smoothly on the ancient original xbone hardware. Quite frankly this title is being held back by it, and it should be exclusive to PS4 Pro and One X, as well as PS5 and the next Xbox. That way the least amount of compromises will be made.
According to the devs at CDProjektRed, Cyberpunk 2077 is being delayed because they can't get it running smoothly on that shitty ancient underpowered original Xbone. I was honestly hoping Rocksteady Studios would do a Spawn game. They already have all the mechanics down, it wouldn't even be that much extra work to do Spawn. Honestly, the microtransactions were garbage and didn't really reward anything. They just gave you a loot box that had a random piece of equipment that was no better than any of the equipment you are constantly finding every few minutes in the game. I played as a total bad guy just to see what would happen out of sheer morbid curiousity. For both ME2 and ME3.
The problem sometimes is you become more of a cartoon bad guy with motives that make little to no sense, where you don't gain anything by being a dick.
I wish the writing was better for bad guy decisions, since it's sometimes a choice between being a goody two shoes and being the worst human being on Earth.
