The real truth is that games are adopting the free to play business model, requiring you to grind out boring repetitive stuff or giving you the option to pay to win with microtransactions, where you literally just paid to play the game less, taking on the form of imagined progression.

Thus, games are feeling longer from the boring grind.

What you're failing to see is the games industry today isn't even close to what it was back in the days of the PS1, 2 and even 3, we're seeing microtransactions carry the games as a service business model into new heights of profitability. This utter nonsense that gaming isn't sustainable at 60 bucks US (80 Canadian) is ridiculous. Try looking at the profits gaming companies rake in. Gaming is 3.5 times the size of all movies and music industries combined. This is not a dying ...

@Indy You are right about price monopolization.
However, you don't need more disc space, there is a digital library that you can download from anytime, and delete older games and re-download them depending on the space required.

We really need to voice our opinion in addition to using our wallets as our voice.
Every time someone buys microtransactions they're effectively telling the developer "I want more of this, since I'm willing to spend money on it". That's how the developer and publisher interpret it. We really need to stop buying these, even if you really want them, because it just sends the message to the developer to make game progression extremely tedious and boring if you don&...

I may just stick with PS4 Pro for 1 year, get PS5 in year 2 when it just might price drop, and games will be cheaper then.
I am never, ever paying over 90 bucks Canadian for a game. That's over 100 bucks with our taxes. To hell with that shit. With all the microtransactions put in full priced games to soak in extra money, the game industry is now 3.5 times bigger than all movies and music industries combined. These greedy publishers just want to line their pockets and decorate t...

For those unaware of how a console being easier to use actually helps development time, it just means you get a better game in less time due to the efficiency and ease of use. This means when publishers give strict deadlines, they can expect a better game with fewer glitches and better performance optimization given a finite amount of development time.

Games can be delayed over and over if the publisher is willing to spend the money, but all things being equal, the more ef...

Investigations are already underway. Most of the steps into improving Human Resources processes are welcome, like providing listening spaces where people can voice their concerns without fear of backlash.

However, creating a director of Diversity and Inclusion will do fuck all for company performance, and will more than likely hurt it of talent, experience and expertise are pushed aside in order to meet randomly assigned race, ethnicity and gender quotas to each department...

Gaming reviewers by and large don't have the slightest clue of what it takes to put together games, they just snootily and smugly piss all over the hard work of others that they have no ability to do themselves.

Same with snooty smug movie critics who hate all your favourite movies and dismiss them as crap.

@Bouzebal they did offer a free PS plus theme.
Also, games WERE given away for free at the start of the pandemic, remember Uncharted collection and the other one?

The cost isn't really an issue, gaming makes 3.5 times as much money as the entire music and movie industry combined.

It's just greedy executives looking for bigger bonuses. I refuse to buy games at full price in Canada at 80 bucks, it's crazy here.

lol you can't really expect anyone to care that much about a character who isn't at all fleshed out, who is pining over his wife which you never actually see.
Zero character development = hard to give a shit.

The stupid feminist Gears 5, giving it that stupid short form name, and a female character who would never in a billion years be able to perform the physical feats she does, was just a cheesy "Hey women are strong too" pandering to the SJW ...

Kojima games aren't really games in the traditional sense, he's trying to achieve something much greater.
In the case of Death Stranding he was trying to teach people to be nicer to each other in a time where people are so divided and at each other's throats.

Perhaps instead of remastering they should've made Max Payne 4 and kept that team together. Instead of RDR1 remaster, make a zombies stand alone game for RDR2 instead of being greedy fucks trying to soak in the most money doing the least effort possible.

Has no one heard of Quentin Tarantino? He was in several of his own movies.

People are so mentally challenged and looking to be outraged over absolutely nothing.

Get a life!
