Horizon Zero Dawn was a huge risk taken by Sony and Guerrilla Games. To leave Killzone behind and work on a totally new IP and then delivering on the promise was simply a phenomenal achievement.
That's true but Microsoft seems to be putting a huge push towards that, more than so Sony and Nintendo. Not saying its a bad thing for Sony and Nintendo, since they obviously have better and bigger games now.
But from a functional, features and services perspective, Microsoft is definitely leading the charge,
Most of the tech is not new, yes, but developers build upon existing tech to make it better. As an example, Open world games were present on the PS2 in a way but their potential is being fully realized just recently.
I highly doubt it will get a remaster. I don't think CDPR is that kind of a studio who likes remastering. If that were the case they would have already remastered Witcher 1 and 2. (I am not talking about the Enhanced versions since that is different from remastering).
The US has always been stronghold for Xbox. It has mostly performed well.
Indeed, the Xbox One X is a pretty impressive upgrade. I think Xbox One X sets a launch pad for next gen consoles. Hopefully 4k/60fps will be the new standard for next-gen consoles.
Yes, Microsoft can strengthen their first party support with single players games like Dead Space 4. But unfortunately, that's not going to happen (at least anytime soon).
The biggest draw for Game Pass is not 3rd party games but major 1st party games that Microsoft will release on it. This will be the major selling point for them.
Yes, but I am assuming it must have required more optimizations compared to the Xbox One X due to hardware difference.
They do but many people buy consoles based on where their friends are.
The article is about those games that have things like season pass, short story dlc. For these kind of games a price of $80 is fine imo.
In our interview, the answer to the Xbox One X hitting 4K/60fps was more enthusiastic. When asked about the PS4 Pro version, the developer said they are looking into it but it may need optimizations.
To be honest, Pachter has a point. Not many people will buy an Xbox One X just for Crackdown 3. They woudld rather buy it for Microsof's huge IPs like Gears and Forza. So I am pretty sure its delay wont affect Xbox One X sales but it sure did hurt Microsoft's line-up for this year.
It's indeed remarkable. Also kudos to Housemarque. They are on a roll this year. They just released the excellent Nex Machina and Matterfall is also looking quite solid.
Even in that case, the Xbox One is "currently" a better deal, provided you are roughly looking for similar specs.
I think as far as Pixar quality is concerned, I'd say that ratchet and clank ps4 comes quite close...at least the in-engine cutscenes. Gameplay, however, still has a long way to go before it reaches to that level.
The definition of photorealism is not confusing to be honest. Many games like Uncharted 4 come close to photo-realism but they are still ways off. This not to say the game looks bad or something. It looks pretty breathtaking but still there are ways to go before developers achieve true photorealism. I think the ps5 and the next xbox will make the line between realism and in-game graphics even thinner.
The audio is a huge improvement over GT6.
This news is about HDR recording, not your usual recording.
There is no system which can be termed as 'perfect'. You bring consoles to play games ( at least in my point of view). There are better ways to watch Netflix and Youtube. For me, the line-up of PS4 exclusives which is going to last until at least late 2019 is amazing and there is absolutely no need for a new console anytime soon.
