He built web pages for MS, he's in marketing not game design.
but my basic point is unchanged. Having a 25Gb vs a 9Gb disc doesn't make a game on the ps3 look one bit better than a game on the 360. In the end, the game engine and all the textures, sounds etc have to fit into 512Mb of Ram. A 25 or 50 gb disc can't EVER change that. It doesn't give the ps3 more ram, make the cpu or gpu any faster or make data transfer speeds any faster. A bigger disc only allows a game to be larger >without having to get up and change a disc<. Period.

Crysis makes anything that is on the ps3 or 360 look like pong and it's only 6 Gb. Having a bigger gas tank only means you can drive farther, it doesn't magically give the car any more horsepower.

Blu-ray means you can build a bigger game, not a better looking one and games like Oblivion or Fallout tell me that putting a massive game on a sing...
Halo 3 is STILL in the top 20?! I didn't see that coming...
According to Joystiq, this is a 2 hour demo with about 1 hour of gameplay so 1 hour of that 5 gb is video... Considering a 3 hour movie takes up most of a blu-ray disc, it's safe to say that the actual demo isn't really very big at all, definitely less than a gig.
macs are using the same hardware as windows machines these days and everyone knows that a high end pc has several times more cpu/gpu grunt and memory than the 360 and ps3 combined.
Spending $10M for an in-house studio to develop a game or paying a third party $10M to develop a game for you... two different approaches, same outcome...
I quote:
"i eat with pretty girls, go to movies with pretty girls, party with pretty girls, then i bring em home, pop on a bluray ....and while theyre amazed and with their mouths wide open, I bang pretty girls."
Oh
My
God
After reading that, I could not have possible been more convinced that a girl has never touched you. Amazed with their mouths wide open? Oh man, I have NOT laughed that hard in a very long time. ...
In the nes and snes era you didn't play video games you played nintendo. In the ps1 and ps2 era you didn't play video games you played playstation. Even my grandmother knows what a playstation is and she doesn't even have a dvd player! You don't say I drive a car you say I drive a ford, toyota etc. You don't think brand recongnition means anything?! Ask companies like Coca Cola, Nike, Google, Disney, McDonald's, Goodyear, Colgate, Telus, IBM, Ikea, Mattel, Ferrari, Honda etc if they thin...
I don't know where you and so many others on this site got the ridiculous idea that a console that is repaired under warranty is tallied as a sale! hahaha Warranty work is completely seperate from sales and it's a loss for the company to boot. If a company sold 100 items and 30 of them came back for warranty work, it still sold only 100 items not 130 items and depending on how you are looking at it, all 100 of them are functional not 70! lol You guys are killing me! hahaha
I'm sorry, I'm so sick of listening to fanboys bickering over sales data especially the x should be doing this and y should be doing that and I'm surprised that z is only doing this well that I have to respond to this silly one sided argument. There are other factors you have left out...
360 is 25-50% cheaper yet it is only outselling ps3 by 18%
360 had a halo themed game release yet it is only outselling ps3 by 18%
360 is the cheapest way to play...
1st party record... the call of duty franchise still has the record for ps3 but still, it's an extremely good showing!
Man, I would buy this for PC in a heartbeat... Just think, Gran Turismo shipping with a level editor?! Who knows what awesome content the fans of this series would pump out!
It actually makes a lot of sense if you have big hands. My thumbs are always hitting each other using the analogue sticks on the playstation controller but the 360 controller keeps them spaced apart. The only time your thumbs would be together on the 360 controller is if you were using the thumbpad and left analoque stick at the same time which is an extremely rare configuration in a game.

The graph shows wii fit at about 14m, sony at about 16m, 360 at about 23m and wii at about 39m. I'm guessing nintendo is talking actual honest to god install base numbers not shipped numbers since general wisdom on shipped numbers has the consoles somewhere in the neighbourhood of ps3@22m, 360@29m and wii@48m presently. I assume that the wii fit's shipped numbers are higher also... either way, it does show just how badly nintendo is owning this generation when it's peripheral is hot on the...
Let me try and illustrate it in a different way, let's say exactly one ps3 and one new release game sold in the uk and the us. In the uk you would have $538us in sales and in the us it would only be $460us in sales. It would appear that the uk market was 17% larger when both markets are actually identical in size.
As far as markets, I would have assumed Mexico would be included in NA since it is physically part of the country but must admit that I am completely unsure where th...
It's a good point but you have to dig a little deeper, you have to remember that consoles and games are more expensive in the UK. For example, the Playstation 3 is £319.99 which is $465US and a new release game is £49.99 which is $73US which makes UK consoles and games about 15-20% more expensive than in the US. True, the European union spent 11.4 billion vs 10.7 billion spent in the US but it bought 15-20% fewer consoles and games because of the higher cost of goods which would p...
Is this really what N4G has come to?! So every time there are murmurs and mumblings on random forums, they have to be proven wrong with links and articles and facts otherwise we will just assume that those forum mumblings and murmurs and rumours and heresay are completely fact? Really? Well, somebody inform the courts that they have it all backwards... it's now guilty until proven innocent!
Look how PirateThom replied, much more reasonable and intelligent. See how it's all ...
The wii is primarily casual gamers and under this economical pressure people are worried about their jobs and wages being cut so they clamp down on and make cuts to casual expenses.
I can't believe that people still don't get this... When MS, Sony or Nindendo ship consoles to the distribution chain they have been sold as far as MS, Sony or Nintendo are concerned. They have been purchased by retail chains and distributors from MS, Sony and Nintendo. None of them know how many of their shipped consoles have been sold to the consumer. If MS, Sony and Nintendo knew how many of their consoles have actually been sold to the consumer then NPD, GFK and MediaCreate would not e...
