Considering that they know of DC Universe online, free Realms and Final Fantasy XIV, I think it is like if they said: "well, on Sony platform we can make it with no problem but we have a sort of agreement with Microsoft for a console exclusive. But since Microsoft is not going to open their system as much as Sony did, our game will probably be a PC exclusive"
Also, but the main reason is here I think:

They are putting too much efforts to just drop the ball, you can still play it for free until they fix it! A MMORPG it' s a long-time investment.
I think we will se FFXIV launch on PS3 in fall 2011.
PS: I agree with zackacloud, PS3 lacks MMOs at the moment, FFXIV is very important for both Square-Enix and Sony.
I agree, I wonder why that feature isn' t available yet, if I recall correctly it was in Killzone 2 since launch.
Good news. Finally they are going to add "Mute All" button, one of the things that interest me more ( I must say that I think this stuff should always be avalaible by default at launch of every game with a multiplayer mode nowadays ).
