The rumor is, albeit farfetched, is MS will bring back the Sega name for their console in Japan. If the rumors are true of course. Which I highly doubt they are. Would be very creative of them though
I'm buying the physical edition because I want lossless 4k Blu-ray discs to play. I highly doubt I'll buy physical disc games due to the speed of hot swapping we'll get this generation. Will be all digital for me in that regard.
Coming from the guy who can't form a complete sentence.
I will pay full price for games that I really want to play, generally Sony's exclusives, and a few other 3rd party games. I will generally wait for discounts though. I probably spend on average $25 for games, which I'm super happy about. Gaming is still pretty cheap, compared to way back in the day.
Microsoft keeps gobbling up has-been studios. Big whoop. Sony still has much stronger studios and from the sounds of it, most games from ZeniMax are still going to be multiplatform, so no need to worry about anything atm. I do like this acquisition though, since it does even things up on a more technical level. Id Studio has great software powering its games that can be great for MS's other FPS games.
It's unfortunate it only has 8GB VRAM, especially since it's only GDDR6. You need lots of RAM to run all that stuff these days! And $200 more for the 3080 with all its extras is a great upgrade for the price too. The 3090 not so much (other than the added VRAM)
Why does everything have to be inspired by Dark Souls nowadays? It almost feels like a detriment to a project being compared to it since the genre is so incredibly saturated now. It's like trying to weed through all of the Metroidvania games these days. I'm sure most of them are great projects, but trying to figure out where to start is daunting and kind of turns me off.
They should have focused primarily on getting it optimized for the XSX, get it out at launch, then work on all the other versions for 2021. Not having the heavy hitter will hurt them at launch, but I'm sure people will still pick up an XSX once it comes out in better form.
I wish I could find the video I was watching of a guy breaking down all of the theoretical improvements from GCN to RDNA2. He came to something like a 16-18x overall improvement when compared to the base PS4. And that wasn't even taking into account whatever the SSD is going to do for the system too.
And that's the thing with early adopters. They will pretty much buy the console at whatever price it's set at. If Sony goes for $500 Digital and $600 Physical and MS undercuts them, they will still have sold through all of the initial stock for six months to a year. Then come 6 months to a year down the road, put them on sales for $100 off until they give it a permanent price cut and they're still golden.
But we're pretty all assuming it's going to be $...
I'm more excited for Kena than I am Spider-Man. Love the style it gives off. Photo-realism isn't really a necessity if the game is amazing to play!
I already couldn't play RE VII in VR because of the immersion. I made it about two hours into that one. This one will be a solid no for me with even better 3D audio haha
I'm actually excited to see what PS5 VR games will look like on the PSVR, if they make them enhanced in any way. The resolution will actually be fine once the fidelity inside the game increases. The only downside at that point would be the draw distances with the resolution. Farpoint towards the end of the game was a squint-fest and gave me a headache.
Definitely did not miss this gem! Played through the dungeon crawler portion of this game with my buddy too. It was very innovative with the random dungeons and hunger management. It was a fun one!
My guess is it'll be around April/May 2022 to give the PS5 two full holiday seasons worth of sales. Could have over 20 million customers to sell to by that point
Unless of course it becomes the size of a wind turbine :P
Call me old-school, but this is my kind of game. Tough as nails platforming? Yes please!
Honestly, I'm waiting to see how back compat comes in overall. If they truly can get BC across all gens, then the disc version is a no brainer for me. If it's only going to be for PS4 games, AND it's $100 cheaper, then I'll do the digital version. May even get my Phat PS3 repaired for the other three gens too!
It's kind of unfathomable how they can't hit 720 portable, 1080 docked with a nine year old game. But, with that said, the game was great back then playing with the Classic controller so I imagine it's still great today!
I have four controllers and 1 of them has stick drift but very slightly. Still a nuisance. It's my oldest launch console controller though. The two newer model ones I have are absolutely perfect. I'm guessing the DualSense controllers will have this ironed out. Hopefully.
