How are you not able to play because of that? It's a 'positive' bug.
It looks like they finally hit the vita native resolution. The game looks way way crisper than Lego Jurassic World from last year.
Oh yeah? That was my biggest complaint with the first one - it was dying for co-op. If this one has co-op, it would be a first day buy for me!
Exactly. My bet is that any money that comes in from these releases is almost pure profit. Seems unlikely that it would cost more than 50k-100k on the very high end to release one of these.
At a 50% profit margin (that's low end for PSN releases, generally it is 70% iirc - but let's say 50% due to any Sony development overhead) that means it would only take a tiny percentage of PS4 owners buying the game for the studio to make a profit. Like 10-20k copies.
Fair enough, I didn't read the article because Gaming Bolt is a terrible site. ;)
It would be interesting to see how much it costs to release a PS2 game on the PS4. My bet is that it is fairly cheap, so it likely doesn't take a huge amount of folks buying them to break even. If the PS2>PS4 games sell 30-50k, my bet is that Sony would be happy.
Also, did the fellow provide any reasoning for his 5% number? I mean it's a random dev, so it's no...
They came out in three formats - CD, DVD-5 and DVD-9 (dual layer). They were modified slightly, so some DVD drives straight up don't recognize them. I remember running into that problem constantly during old school PS2 emulation days.
A game being cross-buy doesn't mean the code itself is portable between consoles. It means that two totally separate versions of the game were made.
PS2 Classics on the PS3 aren't straight PS2 code, they're modified to run on the PS3. PS2>PS3 emulation was never a straight forward thing. There isn't a full emulator in the PS3, which is why there was never a huge amount of PS2 classics released. It required companies put some work into the porting.
...
5% of the PS4 userbase is huge. Most developers would be thrilled to have a game that sells almost 2 million units (5% of 35million = 1.75 million).
I gotta say I was pretty disappointed in the writing for Three Fourths Home. It never felt particularly natural to me. The only good writing was Ben's story.
Disagree.
Thanks man! Preordered Uncharted 4 Special Edition for roughly the cost of the normal edition (63 dollars), and a few other games. Great deal!
Sigh, kind of a b*tchy review: "60 plays means almost playing every song on offer, twice."
OMG, you have to play each song twice?! Yes, clearly a terrible game. Also, multiplayer is a blast and I never had any confusion over who was controlling whom.
Yes, reviews are opinions - but this one is just poorly written. It is hard not to feel like the writer had a chip on his shoulder from the beginning, considering the level of nitpicking and how he phr...
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this game. The sexual content didn't bother me (though I do agree with their decision to purge some of the more hardcore loli stuff for the US release).
It's a fun dungeon crawler and has a ton of content. I put in a good 130+ hours to beat the main game, and the post-game stuff is almost as big as the main game!
Nice, and the PS4 version is on sale for 10 bucks currently. Good timing, since iirc it is cross-buy.
Cross-buy could very well persuade me to pick this up ASAP.
-ditto!
I'm stoked for this game. One of the few I've kickstarted!
That is the same cost as a 500GB PS3 with a new retail game. Plus no tax and free shipping - that is totally insane.
I didn't need two ps4s, but now I have two ps4s. Thanks you sonofa... ;)
How has nobody noticed that they just confirmed mods for PS4!
"You'll be able to create your own mods and share them with others. We’re especially excited these same mods will then be coming to Xbox One, and then PlayStation 4."
They had previously only said that they hoped to get them on the PS4, this is the first time it is confirmed. Super excited, even if it is after the Xbox One (wonder what that means....).
Yeah goddammit. Me too - and the article was complaining about WB's sloppy handling of AK's identity and then goes and straight up tells everyone it.
Thanks idiots.
Minor spelling error, only gonna point it out since you were talking about spelling errors in the beginning of the review. ;)
"like Resident Zombies, Furious Fast Racing, abd Santa Theft Auto."
abd?
