I'm not really bothered about cut-scenes. Skyrim doesn't have cut-scenes and it was still a great game.
So much Peter Andre hate, I personally cannot wait for my new Peter Andre Calendar next year…
It's all about the 8-bit Pokemon blue...
A game geared towards interesting enemy types and power ups, it will be interesting to see more.
That stripped down, no weapons game play is becoming really prevalent in games now, don’t you think?
Timesplitters: Future Perfect - The Khallos Express toilet. Flushable with running water sink... 5/5 for accompanying accessories, I must say.
I agree with that. You can often see the templates at work in those big budget games. I suppose when you’ve got staff to pay and overheads to cost, you can’t afford to take too many risky ventures.
I think AAA games are targeted to consumers, whereas Indie games are targeted to gamers. Obviously there are exceptions to this rule, with AAA games like Metal Gear Solid being absolutely brilliant.
Maybe I’m being pretentious, but I also think there’s more philosophy, consideration and passion in successful indie games.
Also, what comes after photo-realism?

I think Baldur's Gate also had the appeal of a D&D setting, which helped, but only because I love the Forgotten Realms universe. I’m probably bias =P I think the isometric perspective as an aesthetic choice forced developers to be more creative with the other aspects of the game (soundtrack, narrative, etc.) These days, too many games are carried by their incredible graphical capabilities.
Yeah, totally agree, not much demand for it at all, really. Although there wasn’t much demand for a thriving modding and independent community, until those hit the mainstream. Now look at it.
Nemesis and Pyramid Head especially are terrifying =/
You should watch 'Indie Game: The Movie' if you haven't already =D
I need to play this...
It takes a certain kind of player to enjoy this kind of thing, don’t you think? I’m not sure I have the patience to play a game over and over again just to get a little bit faster.
I’m not sure how I feel about speed running to be honest. There’s merit to the runner’s skill, but it’s not how I would want to play a game in all honesty.
It’s a shame there’s no real dedicated Campaign, besides the tutorial type thing... I think some kind of story arch would have been quite interesting.
Until I see game play footage beyond Planet Hoth, I’m not going to judge the game. Until then, I remain sceptical.
Definitely agree with you on this. In general, I stay away from digital downloads. It's all about that physicality and ownership over something tangible.
I remember the first ever trailer for Assassin's Creed, so much hype. And then there was Killzone2, another great trailer. Both games were pretty disappointing. The Gears of War launch trailer was great, even if I didn't play it.
