What I like about his articles is that he is down to earth and realistic. I agree with all of them. Now he can add the BC issue to the list. Most of these items will get addressed in time just as the 360's have. (Although I am still awaiting BC on the 360. I have a hand full of titles that don't work on it.) Eventually they get ironed out. I hope that they come sooner rather than later.

have purchased the $1000 version when the PS3 was cheaper? Now they can buy them both for the same. The articles tile is stupid. It was similar to the DVD player when the PS2 was 150 or so. Why would people buy a standalone for 150 when you could get the PS2 for the same?

played any of Factor 5's games. They all play really well. Especially the flying games, ie star wars on GC. I have high hope for this one. We will see when it finally lands.

it tells us that the PS3 and 360 versions will be as identical as possible. The one major difference will be achievements on the 360. The PS2 version will run off the Mecs 1 engine and will be a downgraded port from the PS3 and 360 without co-op. No need to worry about that.

Anyway, it took the PS2 at least 4 years before the slim came out. However, the innards shrunk drastically up until that time but the shell remained the same. This will also happen to the PS3. The innards will shrink and the outside will remain the same....
But hey, Sony tends to be the only console maker that slims down it consoles. As you recall it happened to the PS1 and PS2. Is that a bad thing? NO. It means that the innards get smaller and they CAN do it so they do it. I wish MS would have done that to the original XBOX, but hey you can't get what you want all the time.

GM does outsource to other companies. I recall a few years back helping a friend install a stereo in her car. It was a GM but it contained parts with the Toyota Label.
I understand what you are saying, but I still don't see the big deal. The cell was developed by IBM in the first place not Sony. Sony backed it financially. Saying that Sony has to manufactured the chip doesn't make sense. What does make sense is finding ways to lower costs and this is one of them.
I am still missing how this is such a bad thing. In efforts to reduce cost, they get others to manufacture the chip. This reduces costs for them which will eventually reduce the cost of the machine for the consumer. How again is that bad? They aren't abandoning the Cell. It is still an integral part of their plan.

The best part of the interview is when he said that they don't play favorites with systems. That should be enough to satisfy the fanboys.
Should anyone expect this version to be better than the 360. As for how they came up with the final score, it is a mystery. The 360 version had the same breakdown for graphics, sound etc, but scored higher. I guess .6 of a point is how bad the load times were.

It is a psychology thing. Even though the "act" is negative, the image of Sony is processed also. Again, I wouldn't expect Mart or yourself to understand that. This is similar to techniques used in advertising.
