If they want to increase PC Gamepass subscribers, they need to change the Xbox app from being the absolutely worst storefront I've ever had to suffer through using - I'm talking an entire redesign of everything - or take the 30% hit like EA Play and just go to Steam.
For me and a whole lot of other people, Steam is really the only option. I'd sub immediately.

I dropped half a month's rent on a custom PS5 Aim controller with 4 back buttons which comes CLOSE to doing the trick, but the ability to map those back buttons to whatever I want in Steam like the Elite would be so huge for me even just to start and stop clip recordings.

Unfortunately it's one of the main two engines that indie devs use, and is generally considered to be the easiest to use with the most online resources available.
There's some real good games that use Unity but even ignoring the bs they tried to pull this month, I actually really don't like the engine. It's almost always immediately noticeable when you're playing a Unity game and gives me the same feeling as playing a browser-based Shockwave game back in...

Like, I've played the intro to Skyrim probably 10 times, then get past that dragon part and do a couple missions and put it down, only to pick it up again and restart a year or so later trying to see if it's for me. It never is.

I mean launching without it was the most sus thing in the world and I'm shocked AMD doesn't have an angrier mob of people for clearly purposely failing to optimize for NVidia/Intel cards on the AMD sponsored title. PC Player here. I buy my games even if they're on GamePass. Even if i know i'll beat the game in a day or two and never touch it again and could easily just pay for one month of Gamepass, I'll still spend way more money for the single game on Steam lmao
