The PC38x is currently on sale on the Drop website for $139 if you want a huge upgrade in audio quality. I replaced my SteelSeries Siberia 840 with that headset, which cost twice as much, and it sounds terrible compared to the Sennheiser.
@Bladesfist I have a Samsung G9 ultrawide monitor, and HDR looks nice in bright areas but quite bad in dark areas. Dimming zones are laughable on this thing. I still prefer to have HDR on most of the time on that monitor, but its HDR capabilities and the HDR capabilities of many monitors look like an absolute joke compared to my OLED, which I use with my PS5. I really love HDR, but it's woefully behind in monitors compared to even budget HDR televisions currently. Monitors are mainly for...
My G9 does 5120 * 1440 at up to 240Hz, although that's going to be too high of a spec to get up to that in many games.
1080p or 1440p at high refresh rates are the mainstays for competitive/ eSports gaming.
They actually made a cringey list like this and Kainé didn't make it in there?
The Haligtree in Elden Ring felt very much like an FROM DLC (harder, unique and high value gear, strong enemies and bosses), but it was just included in the main game this time.
The size and scope of the game may be daunting to beginners, but it's far less punishing than most of the previous Souls games. Your health bar isn't cut in half. You aren't dealing with black phantoms appearing because you died too much. Summons can help with difficult enemies quite a bit. And they're more flexible in co-op and make it pretty easy to get some help from a more experienced player.
Not much of a point in replying when my comments are being falsely reported as spam so they can't be seen. I was going to mention that activists of this loathsome ilk are extremely authoritarian, but they already demonstrated that quite clearly the first chance they got.
"Satire is used to punch at power..." Satire is a form of humor. It is not relegated to only be used to push social justice bullshit.
You can't just make a game designed to be easy to average difficulty play just like a game that is designed to be challenging from the ground up like a Souls game or Returnal. An easy to understand example is the excellent Uncharted games on Crushing difficulty. You're going to endure a lot of cheap deaths that are almost impossible to avoid because those games are designed around Nathan taking shots, punches, falling, ect. and in general tanking a decent amount of damage. When you ar...
How could they screw up such an incredible game this badly? The title screen song of the original was probably worth a few points alone. How do you have the quality of the original in your hands and produce this? The Chrono games are classics from the golden era of JRPGs. Very disappointing.
Most of my technical issues are stuttering and freezing. I have a 2080 Super and a friend has a 3080, and we both had problems running it. It also seems like the freezing happens way more often if you Alt-Tab, which is pretty obnoxious given you often want to look up bits of info regarding complex questlines and whatnot. It still runs pretty poorly currently, and the widescreen situation is an additional source of irritation. It obviously can run in widescreen because with a mod it does that,...
The stuttering and freezing are atrocious. I had to restart my PC multiple times yesterday, and it took me 3 attempts to even get it to play after an update. The content of the game itself is incredible, but the technical issues are quite a problem right now. I have a 2080 Super and a friend has a 3080, we have both had a lot of problems getting it to run properly.
Addressing the constant stutter and frequent freezing in the PC version would be a fantastic next step.
"and the slow and imposing Godskin Noble..."
Has this guy played this game? The porky Noble is faster than the Apostle rolling all over the place and darting in and out with that rapier.
Also, Tiche is definitely more difficult than some of the bosses on this list, certainly a hell of a lot tougher than Burial Tree Watchdog.
Well, based on that picture of Ciri...I...what were we talking about?
I don't know when I'm going to finish the last 3 games I've bought, Horizon FW, Elden Ring (PC), and GT7. I'm going to be busy for quite awhile.
Polygon will probably gripe about the game not overtly acknowledging a random menu character's blackness or some absurdly irrelevant demographics nonsense.
The passion and borderline obsession with car culture is fantastic from my perspective. I'm sure if you just want to do time trials or some races online you don't have to go through all the car history if you can't appreciate that aspect of the game.
@Teflon02 Forcing vsync off in the Nvidia control panel helped a lot, but it could definitely use some work and a lot more options. You can watch Digital Foundry's recent video covering it titled "Elden Ring PC Performance Simply Isn't Good Enough."
There are lots of pro eSports gamers who use 1080p monitors like the BenQ ZOWIE XL2411.
