Never liked the guy and saw right through his nice guy facade from day one.
Guy goes on & on about wanting to expand the Xbox's Japanese 1st party portfolio and build good will within the Japanese gaming spectrum. Yet, kills off Scalebound and shutters the one Japanese studio they had under their umbrella after Hi-Fi Rush became a hit.
I'll take a Don Mattrick over a Phil Spencer any day of the week. Say what you will about him but at least Mattrick saw...
Tango Gameworks really?!! Been saying it for over a decade, Phil Spencer is a joke!!
If true, hopefully they support it better than they did with the Surface Duo.
Yet, the Oneechanbara series (y'know, the game with half-naked samurai females slicing up zombies to bloody pieces) get released in Japan uncensored.
The CERO ratings board is an equilibrium.
There were definitely plans for more DS after remake, that later got put on ice. EA had a frigging survey (shortly after remake was released) asking fans if they were interested in DS 2&3 remakes.
All this so-called "controversy" is just free problicity for the game, that'll blow over two weeks after it launches.
Surprised there's little coverage about Tencent now being announced as the official server provider for the game.
This statement seems like damage control after the company's recent comments about not benefiting from the games being on GP.
I don't understand this logic. They'd been wanting to go indie for a while but were denied under the previous regime at Acti-Blizz. Now that they're free, it's suddenly an issue?
Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.
About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.
Very mediocre game. Huge disappointment and massive step down from the original WD (and remake).
Seeing as to how none of Bloober's prior games involve any combat, makes you wonder as to why Konami saw it fit for them to start with SH2.
Bloober's style would have been better suited for a game like SH: Shattered Memories.
The Day MS announces going Multiplat, is going to be a very sad day for N4G.
Whose going to be the new scapegoat for posting negative news and articles on for the diehard Sony fans to relish in hate?
That Starbreeze (Riddick/The Darkness) is sadly long gone. After switching engines, several key staff left for MachineGames. It's the main reason why the studio hasn't developed anything of note outside of the Payday series in years.
LOL if the 20th Anniversary Edition ends up running worse than the HD Edition (which came out over 10 years).
This is Ubisoft we're talking about. A company whose notorious for putting out so-called "Remasters" which perform worst than prior versions (i.e. Far Cry Classic and Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered).
Don't get your hopes too high just yet. If rumors be true, it's an NFT project. If so. "Absurd Ventures" couldn't be a more aptly name for the studio.
"Microsoft hasn’t saved anyone, or any IP by throwing their money around. I can’t think of any franchise or company that is better post-MS."
Either you're uneducated or being willingly ignorant in this regard.
Bungie became a household name in the gaming industry after MS acquired them and changed Halo from a third person RTS to a FPS.
Obsidian were enduring massive financial woes and were on the brink of bankruptcy until MS swooped in to sav...
Embracer should serve as a cautionary tale to companies who aspire to grow fast but without a formal business infrastructure and are reliant purely on investment money to keep operations afloat.
"The studio has also stated that ‘other platforms will follow’."
Timed exclusive.
Should have happened years ago after that disastrous 2020 Halo Infinite world premier gameplay debut but Phil managed to alleviate heat by purchasing Bethesda (how ironic) shortly after. He's produced nothing but failures during his 10yr tenure as lead.
- It was Phil's decision to kill off Scalebound and host of 1st party studios and IPs (i.e. Phantom Dust, Fable Legends, Knoxville, etc.) in development early in the XB1's tenure pretty much sealing the console's fate...
