I agree with Krayzie. GTA IV multiplayer PC servers are totally dead. Why is APB going to be any different?.
GTA IV online is dead because PC users just aren't interested in clumsy third person multiplayer shooting games. Those kind of games are designed for console users that don't have a mouse.
Developers will move from DirectX 9 when newer versions of DirectX actually have something worthwhile to offer.
Most of the fancy features of recent versions of DirectX are really just a marketing ploy that's designed to appeal to gamers that don't know any better.
He looks even more camp than he sounds
I hope reviewers are comparing the visual quality between Nvidia and ATI cards too. Video card developers are under a lot of pressure and it must be tempting to "optimize" their cards to run specific high profile games faster by reducing the image quality.
For example - Nvidia could optimize their drivers to run high profile games faster than ATI, but when totally new games come along then you may suddenly see that ATI's cards are actually faster.

Upgrading from quad core to six cores wouldn't really be noticeable. Perhaps a 15% increase in frame rates on some games (if you're lucky).
I'm gonna wait for 8 core CPUs to become available before upgrading.
Command consoles do lead to a subtle form of cheating.
Although it's not really the console that's an issue, but rather it's some of the commands that are typically available through a console. You have the l33t gamers using developer commands to disable all the textures and fancy graphics in order to make their opponents stand out from the background. So in order to compete you're left with no choice but to become a l33t player yourself and disable the textures too. Then the dev...
please make it stop..
They might have a mode where the bus explodes if it drops below a certain speed. Or perhaps have a crazed passenger that likes to decapitate fellow passengers with his pen knife.
There's so much potential!
LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!
It's beautiful! Thank you, Steven!
Welcome to the rat race..
Augmented reality is a better direction to take. Rather than go into a virtual world and shoot zombies, they superimpose virtual zombies onto the real world. For example - you would be on the toilet taking a crap and a zombie would come running in screaming. I think it would really help people with bowel problems and constipation etc.
"Interaction" with virtual people will never be as satisfying as "real" people. Virtual people aren't too dissimilar to imaginary people.
Technology is a journey.
Buckle up and stop whining back there!
Remove the laborious missions and make the city more fun to explore!
Looking good. Although I would like to see some shadows below those cars. They don't have to be proper shadows for a game like this, just some simple rectangular blob shadows would do the job.
The hospital should sell his old liver on ebay.

Well I never said that there wasn't people that download games regardless of price. I'm just stating that there are people like me that download games as a way of trying them out. and if we decide we like the game then we'll go buy it.
I just did this with ArmA 2. Great game! Definitely worth the price..
I downloaded the "demo" and found that I wasn't impressed. I don't feel guilty about downloading "illegal copies". The industry expects way too much of consumers to ask them to spend $50 on a game that they may never play.
I feel some game companies deliberately hold back on a demo simply because they know that people wont buy the game after seeing how crap it is. Not exactly ethical behavior of the industry.
I don't think that'll be possible as your brain is used to your head being upright when moving around, even in 3D games. So lying down while playing games will probably cause nausea. You could get used to it, but then you'll feel uncomfortable when you stand up.
BTW - I've tried hanging a large LCD monitor above a reclining chair and it wasn't a pleasamt experience at all. Motion sickness..
