Agreed. We'll never see it, though. If TOR succeeds they will just keep making expansions for it. And if it flops they will consider it too risky. And even if it did get made TOR seems to be screwing with canon by saying the Revan was really evil the entire time and just a pawn of the sith emperor (COMPLETELY NULLIFYING what Kreia hinted at in KOTOR 2) and it looks like they're even going to bring him back as a raid boss in the game. Uggh.
Lose lose situation here.
Good decision. My personal GOTY so far. Best RPG I've played this gen.
The review is excessively negative and for them to say that it takes forever to get to the good parts and that the prologue is is just fluff is ludicrous. It honestly seems like he's just focusing on the nitpicks and exaggerating them. That review is such a mess it would take me too long to write up all the points he's either exaggerating about or just plain full of it on. I also like how he only mentioned the positives in passing or with negative overtones.

I actually think the combat is one of the stronger parts of the game. Most of his critiques seem to be minor nitpicks, such as the lack of tutorial and not being able to look at the controls in game, or just plain vague and not explained upon, such as his critique of the combat being only "functional" and "frusterating". The most he touched on that was Geralt taking too long to dodge (which strikes me odd because Geralt has always felt very responsive to me.) or the target...
They would have announced that new project earlier during the stream. Looks like they over hyped it a bit for PC players. Was expecting a expansion pack
They just announced the port an hour ago.
Yeah. I hope they don't sell out. With so many devs going down the drain CD Projekt is becoming one of my favorite studios.
I'm glad that the 360 is getting this great game. I'm also glad CD Projekt developed this on PC first and console second. I hope you 360 owners enjoy the game and make them a good deal of money so that I can play The Witcher 3.
However I have to say, I was massively let down by the announcement considering how much they hyped it up. I thought it was going to be an expansion pack seeing as how everyone already knew it was coming to 360.
The games graphics will have to be downgraded significantly on the consoles. Even if the game works great with gamepads (I personally still used keyboard + mouse) the PC version will still always be the superior version. I'm glad that console users will be getting the game, GOTY in my opinion and both user bases aren't getting screwed since it was made for PC first. Hope you guys buy it as I really want The Witcher 3! (hopefully same thing they are doing with TW2 with making it for th...
Indie? What? I'm pretty sure CD Projekt is a proper games studio.
Yeah, I kind of agree. It just doesn't really look all that interesting to me. Sort of looks like an ordinary shooter to me. I really would like a good mech game so I do hope this exceeds my expectations.
What's up with all the disagrees? He's asking a legitimate question. What's the problem with the reviewer? The game got the score it deserved, I read the review and I didn't see much bias.
What makes it good?
The sharp & often hilarious writing.
the memorable and lovable characters both from the books & original.
The challenging a rewarding combat system that while not without its kinks is still a massive step in the right direction.
The choices that a neither right nor wrong, everything is a shade of gray in the Witcher universe and each side has their pros and their cons. And you do see major differen...
Except the part where that's not true and they have developed several excellent games that were a little rough around the edges, and not to mention they are made up of the remnants of what many consider two of the best RPG studios to grace the industry (Troika, Black Isle. The creators of Fallout 1 & 2, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, Planescape Torment and Icewind Dale)
Kotor 2? I thought it was fantastic and an improvement over the first in several regards and h...
Why bother arguing in an intelligent manner opinions and critiques of your own when you can lazily point to some numbers? You haven't addressed anything that I brought up but instead opted to go the route that requires the least amount of knowledge or effort. Try again.
Are you kidding me? A swath of reviews can be? What about all those times reviews haven't been objective? And obviously neither can you considering you're only capable of regurgitating the opinion...
Really? Because I thought Kotor 2 was as good or even better, even though it was unfinished. That they made what they did in under a year is very impressive, especially considering they were originally going to have more time to develop it but Lucasarts forced them to release in time for Christmas, and then didn't allow them to patch in all the cut content thereby making the game whole.
Fallout New Vegas was also an improvement in my opinion due to its more interesting lo...
Funny, I consider Obsidian a plus. What with their long history of good to great games and all... Sure, their games are often times buggy but a lot of the hate is misguided and unjustified.
What console and portable games are coming out to rival it? All I see this year is a deluge of shooters and the only ones I'm interested in are Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect 3. Sure, we have Skyrim but I can't really think of anything more at the moment.
Mass Effect and Modern Warfare? Are you kidding me? Please tell me you're joking as neither of those games come anywhere close (I mean seriously, Mass Effect isn't even Bioware's best game. And don't even get me started on Modern Warfare). And yeah, The Witcher 2 completely eclipses Mass Effect in my opinion, and you shouldn't even be comparing TW2 and Modern Warfare. My GOTY, probably the best game I've played this gen.

Seriously? You're going to wait because of achievements and cross-game chat? Why the hell would you like to talk to somebody while playing a story driven game?
