Not sure what the issues were with this one, but in general, I would say one reason being player expectations for modern games. Games from the late 90s/early 2000s were small (less than 100) teams and the assets (3d models, textures, etc.) were very low quality and therefore didn't take as long as to develop/polish as they do today. There were a lot of really large scoped games back then that would be difficult to develop to today's standards.

Neither Quake 3 or Fallout 2 are "Bethesda Games". ZeniMax Media purchased id software in 2009 and also owns Bethesda.
I honestly found the demo to be a little too parry focused without much alternatives. Having to do multiple parries is kinda just exhausting and not fun for me.
This confuses me since I've seen so many gory Japanese movies and anime. For example, Battle Royale.
It looks like a cool game, and if the campaign was complete, I'd buy it in early access. Without a complete campaign, I don't mind waiting for the real release.
Promise me... you won't tell anyone.
I need to just give up on this game ever receiving a 60fps update and play it with the low frame rate issues.
I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.
Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.
The CPU did not get an upgrade with the Pro based on the rumored spec. It is mostly an upgraded GPU with whatever "AI" nodes Sony has been working on.
I see overwhelming support for cosmetic microtransactions in the gaming community. Sure, some still hate on it (like me, hehe) but I wouldn't call it "extreme hate". The problem here is the predatory nature of these ones in DD that target specific game play mechanics that lead to better QoL. I loved RE4:Remake but the microtransactions Capcom put in it were scummy just like they are here.
Unfortunately the bean counters have determined these scummy microtransa...
"AI generating additional pre determined branches in dialog tree options for more freedom in conversations with NPCs"
I'm wondering about that last one. Will that make a game more fun or more immersive? In the end, how can it possibly be more than filler content and then if it is filler content how much do I really want to engage with conversing with it if I know it will lead no where?
"Digital Foundry verifies them"
No they did not. They speculated on the rumors from other news organizations that have claimed to verify the information.
"wake up"
hmmm....
Stay positive. It is only 20% layoff and not 50% because the game was successful.
I've given up getting anything from Naughty Dog this generation that isn't a remake. The development cycle for video games needs to change. 8 year development cycles and one hundred million dollar budgets is unsustainable. The industry layoffs in the past year prove that.
From the filing they are arguing that Yuzu's only use is piracy (I disagree) and that it facilitated piracy (I strongly disagree).
Edit: I disagree that its only use is piracy because it can also be used to play backups of games. I totally used it to play the backup I made of the TOTK game cartridge using a hacked Switch.
Everyone has their own special secret sauce to fix this black screen at startup bug. Fortunately I was able to just refund it via Steam because I was still within the refund window.
"Alt tab for a few minutes while it sits on the black screen"
You gotta be friggen kidden me... wtf is going on with this game?
How much something cost to make or produce (e.g., fabricate a disc with a case) rarely relates to actual price to the consumer. Markets set the price of goods, not the raw material cost that goes into it. That is very simplistic thinking.
I know some folks who aren't buying it simply because it isn't on Steam.
Game Pass isn't for me. I'm not looking for the best value in gaming, I'm looking for the best experiences in gaming.
