Considering the CEO quit and one of the co-founders did, I highly doubt it, toeing the company line it seems with this opinion.
The same guy that said Xbox Live Gold had 50 million subs, and the new 34 million including Xbox GamePass Core (formerly Xbox Live Gold) that Microsoft announced this year is wrong. 🤣
Glad to see Moon finally coming out, they left the deal they had with Microsoft to go 3rd party, and now we all know why, even though many of us already knew they weren't making any money being on gamepass day 1, and that fee Microsoft gave them wouldn't cover half a decade of labour, just the games they commissioned.
Look into Outriders situation, unless you are a very small indie dev, gamepass loses money for everyone involved, including Microsoft.
Does that mean Jedi part 3 is also gone?
Microsoft are only doing this because they are in a position of weakness, Sony isn't, so won't.
The fact that it includes the old Xbox Live Gold number (which is now GamePass Core) is very telling on how poor growth has been, but also that Gold was at best 9 million subs towards the end, a far cry from the dominating Xbox 360 days Microsoft wishes Xbox could return to.
A side note - PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra, and PlayStation Plus Premium combined = 48 million.
Seems GamePass will be the 3rd biggest subscription service out of PlayStat...
Not really, Xbox has only won a single NPD all generation, my guess is PS5 is over 20 million in America now, and Xbox is at best 15 million. Close but not 50/50 split.
Europe is essentially 80/20, Asia is 90/10.
2023 sales are 8:1 in PS5's favour.
It's worse, Sony is reporting 54.8 million (up 100k from this source), so Xbox Series X|S = 22.2 million.
Furthermore, thanks to TakeTwo & Sony's Q4 reports, 2023 totals are;
PlayStation 5 = 24.8 Million
Xbox Series X|S = 3.2 Million
PS5 > XSX|S = 7.75:1 Globally! No wonder Microsoft is throwing in the towel.
He's the guy in 2022 saying Xbox Series consoles were outpacing PS5. LOL
PS5 in Summer 2022 had more consoles sold than Xbox Series today.
Xbox Series X|S is at 22.3 million thanks to TakeTwo and Sony quarterly reports!
YIKES, so it was even worse than anyone expected for Xbox, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, in actuality;
PS5 = 54.7 million
XSX|S = 22.3 million
It's TakeTwo/R*, GTAV and RDR2 aren't on Switch, their biggest 2 games are what they spent most of their investment update on, and GTAVI won't be on Switch 2 either.
Absolutely, not only that, GP growth is nonexistent, and boxed/digital sales ain't a thing on Xbox anymore.
They've conditioned their fanbase into expecting every title on GP day 1 coupled with very low consoles sold = poor revenue & no profiles.
Also, state on the downvotes for stating facts. Sony announced 30 million at CES 2023, so 23 million PS5 consoles sold in 2023 is the bare minimum. It could be 54 PS5 vs 23 Xbox Series, I was giving Xbox the be...
PS5 at 53 million (minimum)
XSX|S at 24 million (maximum)
Also, 2023 sales;
PS5 sold 23 million units (minimum)
XSX|S sold 5 million units (maximum)
No wonder Microsoft has thrown in the towel.
This is false, PUBG had 3.2 million peak at once when it cost money, not F2P.
Indeed, PS5 is the only console right now with 60fps exclusives with RT, and PS5 had that day 1 of the console's launch. And PS5 has full native 4K games running at 60fps too, Xbox also doesn't have that. Pretty much every new Xbox AAA game released this gen has been either 4K/30 without RT or Dynamic Res/60 without RT.
And their hubris has massively backfired. Xbox Series is in a worse position now sales-wise than the disastrous launch of Xbox One, Microsoft has made owning an Xbox console utterly irrelevant.
Sony never made a commitment to keeping every thing they make on their service forever.
Deal already existed, so it's more smoke and mirrors, trying to hoodwink regulators. Microsoft and EE entered a partnership on the 4th of May 2021 covering GP which already includes xCloud.
It was a parody of Fallout 3 which was a parody of a real Fallout game. :SHRUGS:
It was still fun but outside Fallout/2/New Vegas, you are getting a Todd's reading of what Fallout is, not what it was or should be.
Now notwithstanding, I played it for over 300 hours, got the platinum on PS4, and enjoyed it for what it's worth, it just doesn't hold a candle to New Vegas as a 3D Fallout, and no BGS Fallout ever will. They just don't get the setting, the humour, ...
