The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.
Wtf, why is it called a gameplay chart then? If they're going week by week I guess it's more about popularity over time, but that's still not specifically about gameplay.
"it gauges how many people played at least 1sec of any given game"
They don't specify the criteria. However, it's a "gameplay" chart not a total players chart. So I don't think this is just about number of people playing.
I've already seen quite a few of these years ago. But still, it's a shame it was cancelled. Hopefully one day we'll get another globetrotting spy thriller. Maybe MS can get the rights to Alpha Protocol from Sega, or have Obsidian make a spiritual successor.
Leatherface at number 10, but the twins from Atomic Heart aren't even on the list? What?
So stop covering them.
Dragon's Dogma 2
Senua's Saga: HB2
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Fable
Clockwork Revolution (if it releases in 2024)
As others have said this wasn't a Kickstarter. But still, I rarely support Kickstarter anymore. Of the many projects I've backed none release on time, many take multiple extra years or never release, and what does release is rarely ever good or what was promised. Kickstarter had real potential but the platform offers zero protection for the backers, so it's become a paradise for scams and over promising but under delivering.
Sunset Overdrive starts at the beginning of the outbreak. A prequel would literally not be Sunset Overdrive. It also wouldn't work that way. MS owns the rights to the next 2 games in the franchise, a prequel would be included in that.
That's a weird situation. Insomniac/Sony own the IP, but MS own the publishing rights to the next 2 sequels, any DLC, and any remasters. I don't see Sony allowing Insomniac to develop 2 Xbox exclusives, even if MS were to fund them. The franchise is as good as dead.
Yeah this is just terrible. No dev deserves this. It really is devastating. I do hope more devs and publishers start taking cyber security more seriously now. Leaks just keep getting worse and worse.
He can still be sued and held responsible. Leaving the company doesn't protect him from that.
Arkane Austin had nothing to do with Dishonored. They made Prey and Redfall. Arkane Austin losing staff has no effect on Lyon, which is the actual Arkane dev everyone knows.
Ain't no way. After the video with Shu and Adam Boyes? There's no way they go this hard in the opposite direction.
There's probably some truth to that. I also think some modders are waiting to see what the proper mod tools are going to allow when they release next year. Apparently they're more comprehensive than any tools BGS have ever released.
I can't believe it hasn't been remastered yet. It was so good.
It's possible and would be welcomed. I believe both Minecraft and NMS received multiple updates to their procgen algorithms after release.
There's little reason for it anymore. Remove the trailers and all you have left is awkward presentations, dancing, live music, etc. Just a bunch of filler. Publishers realized they can take the Nintendo Direct route and just do their own thing both cheaper and better, with very little fluff or filler.
Mass Effect 3 was great. The last 15 minutes weren't what people were hoping for, sure, but that doesn't negate the rest of the game being great.
I think at this point it would be really difficult to make a new AAA fighting game IP. Especially if it's going to be embraced by the FGC and be featured at Evo. It would have to set itself apart with unique hooks and mechanics, while having super tight controls, but still enough of a traditional feel to keep fans of the genre happy. That's easier said than done when the market is already saturated.
