I don't know anything about Hideaki Nishino, but I do know that Hermen Hulst is great and an actual dev. He understands game dev and what players are looking for. I hope these two can guide PS' first party to a more varied rotation of games.

The cinematic action adventures Sony have been putting out have been great, sure, but they used to put out a far wider variety of games.

Get some teams on RPGs like Wild Arms and The Legend of Dragoon, and som...

There's no way to spin this shit, it's just indefensible. This industry is seeing record profits every year and yet studios keep getting gutted or closed. It's unacceptable.

"the same exact thing would have happened at PlayStation"

But the same thing *has* been happening at PS. They've closed, what, 3 or 4 studios so far this gen? Laid off plenty of staff, restructured studios, etc.

Yeah overall this gen is pretty shit. Everyone is making horrible decisions, great devs are getting either gutted or entirely shut down regardless of quality or success, very little in the way of innovative games, etc. This industry needs to see some drastic changes.

1) You're in Canada, a country that PSN operates in. That's not necessarily apples to apples.

2) The game didn't require a PSN account. It was optional. People bought the game based on it being optional. To then force it just isn't ok.

1) Not every game can be a new IP. Some IP are just begging for sequels and spin-offs because the lore and world building are so good.

2) Both Obsidian and inXile have multiple teams, so this wouldn't stop either from also putting out new IP.

I'd love an FPS spin-off from Obsidian and isometric spin-off from inXile. That would give us a steadier stream of Fallout while Bethesda can take their time with TES VI and Fallout 5.

I don't really care about this game personally but what do you expect? Much of the marketing focused on the fact that the main character is hot and that the game isn't censoring anything regarding gore. If you market your game one way and then start patching out the stuff you marketed it's incredibly disingenuous. It's a bait and switch. Anyone who bought the game to support the anti-censorship approach has the right to be upset. It's not really about cleavage, it's ab...

The disagrees are from people who have common sense. They aren't trying to kill mods. Most mods for any game will break with a new update because they rely on files/code that have been changed. This isn't new. Even with Bethesda this would happen way before the creation club. Mod support is literally one of the things that got Bethesda to where they are, and they're one of the only devs that releases comprehensive mod tools for each of their games.

WD1 was cool but felt a bit too generic and formulaic for a game about hacking, plus Aiden was a psychopath. T-Bone was a far more interesting character and should have been the focus from the start. His expansion was great.

WD2 was a much more fun game overall, though the characters were far too Gen Z-ified. They were obnoxious, totally unlikeable. There was a bunch of dumb social media crap too. I remember the overall gameplay loop being significantly improved though. ...

Not true. Timed exclusivity existed before Xbox even entered the console business. Sony did it, Nintendo did it, and Sega likely did as well.

Slant Six wasn't *the* SOCOM developer. They made a couple PSP games and the abysmal SOCOM: Confrontation. If he's the one in charge that isn't a good thing tbh, that makes me totally uninterested.

"The Order was attacked for being short"

The Order was 4 hours and cost full price. Hellblade 2 is roughly 8 hours long, and is only $50. There's a big difference there.

I'm not trying to damage anything, calm the fuck down. I thought the actual game was out already because everyone has been talking about it. You're so determined to defend some game from randos on the internet that you'll go on some dumb tirade. It's not that serious. Go outside and breath some fresh air ffs.

The demo is an older build though. Just because the demo doesn't have input lag doesn't mean the final game doesn't either.

History says probably not. Almost every live service game fails. Realistically if HD2 is successful the other games likely won't be. Traditionally people dont jump from live service to live service. They find one game they really click with and invest their time and/or money into that.

49d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's been obvious for years though. That hasn't stopped dozens of live service games crashing and burning on release for making the same mistakes again and again. This industry doesn't learn.

@Goosejuice

I have a 7800X3D. It certainly is great for gaming. Though for video editing, rendering, etc, I think Intel have the advantage from what I remember. I just mean from a GPU standpoint I can't support them.

@cone

What? I didn't say it wouldn't work. Maybe you should learn how to read.

@RedDevils

I'm far from cheap. I just don't personally think that amount of money is worth it for a tethered device that relies on another system. If it was a new PSP I could understand. Also, I'm not "crying". BillyCrystals asked a question and I answered. Sorry I hurt your feelings by saying something you disagree with.

As much as I hate supporting Nvidia, AMD just doesn't even try to compete. Their whole business model is to beat Nvidia purely on price. But I'd rather pay for better performance and better features. AMD also doesn't even try to innovate. They just follow Nvidia's lead and make their own version of whatever Nvidia is doing. But they're always 1 or 2 generations behind when it comes to those software/driver innovations, so Nvidia is always miles ahead in quality and perform...
