The problem is that Sony absolutely needs someone like Microsoft as competition in hardware/console. Without it, it's worse for the consumer. Much worse.
Horse before the cart, IMHO. I feel they are doing worse on hardware *because* they put their games everywhere now and because the focus so much on subscription model gaming/streaming.
Steam + Xbox is quite a bit, I agree. Now, what type of argument are we trying to win with this info since both Xbox an PS games are on Steam?

It's actually just so they can collect data. They are very happy with PSN numbers.
There are regions where people have to create PSN accounts in different regions and with different addresses to do this, which is technically against PSN TOS. It's just weird.
I do agree that it has become pretty common, including EA, Ubisoft, and more having similar requirements. But it is still annoying.
No. It's the publisher's fixation on profit margins. They only want the most profitable of products. It's greed.

It came out over 6 months ago and most of its income now is MTX. Not surprising IMHO.
These are advertisements from the owners and their sites. These help pay for the site costs. I'm also not a fan of them, but the alternative is even more invasive ads on every page of the site.

Yeah, just FYI, you agree to that before you even start the game. So, you know, stop being an uninformed gamer. They literally tell you they will make updates like this. You should have returned the game as soon as you had to agree to that.
