I'm about 47 minutes into the vid, good interview, but HHG's obnoxious attitude does get on my nerves ('THIS IS CRAZY MAN KEKEKEKE SO CRAZY RIGHT NAO'). Nothing against the guy personally, cause you can tell he does have a legit passion for gaming, which is great. However, he needs to clean house on his site if he plans on gaining any credibility as a journalistic source. Blu-ray. It's obvious it does help the system from a game perspective, (Think of Mgs4 and Killzone 2) and besides that one of the main reasons i bought the ps3 was for the hi definition movies. Sure downloaded hd content is alright but it doesn't hold a candle to blu-rays sound and picture quality. i don't regret for a second that the ps3 cost me more becasue of the blu-ray it was well worth the price. Dvd-9 is last generation technology and as games get bigger It's going to suffer, i don't wan't the ps3 to be limited by it and blu-ray really shows off my hdtv and is second only to a movie theater.

I understand that not everyone is a fan of the HipHopGamer, that not everyone likes his blend of videogame news, but then we live in free countries (probably) nobody is forcing us to watch his show. Sure you can be petty and criticise the man for not always using a spell checker but that is not seeing the big picture. For me, I've got to be honest, I love what he is doing. He has a genuine passion for videogames. He wears his heart on his sleeve. Every week he comes, he talks and he shares his opinions. You don't have to agree with everything he says, I often don't. Now granted you might be talking more about GT5:P in the article, but you do mention GT5 and that NFS:S will "easily challenge Gran Turismo 5 as the most beautiful racing game when they both come out" Now once again, a matter of wait and see(I do realise you basically say this, still it isn't a preface to say that this is personal opinion and may not come true, it is more something right at the end to say that maybe everything I wrote won't happen), but if Killzone 2 is anything to go by, we know that PS3 exclusives certainly outweigh(Graphically at least) almost anything that multiplat games have to offer.

I'm not saying that you and your posse should be gone(The other guy was :p), but just write stuff that isn't so unfounded, and don't give us stuff that is only for the hits/ratings.

I will also just mention too, that many do see grammar issues to as poor articles, make sure that they are always checked out for proper grammar and punctuation, especially if your trying to be a legit news site, just makes the whole thing far more professional.

I still stand behind that Need for Speed article. I saw screens on the game, looked at what the team worked on in the past, and the time they put into this game. I didn't bash Gt5 in the article, but rather praised the possibilities in Need for Speed. I thought this game would be good becuase it would allow 360 owners to play a high quality sim racer. I also liked the amount of detail they put into car damage, reflections, and the use of very good mirrors.

If you read it you'll see that its more like a preview than a comparison. The game will be competition because the game looks great, is multi-plat, does some good things that GT5 doesnt do, and has the need for speed name.

I think GT5 will be better, but I think NFS:S will also be a very good mainstream sim racer

Just finished my minor in Journalism. Granted, that's not a Bachelor's, but it's more than you have room to scoff at.

And yes, you should have told the guy you work for to shove it if that's how he wants to run his publication. If you have any skills whatsoever, you can find another place to write, one that might actually do something for your career instead of putting the brakes on it.

It doesn't matter if you're writing about war, politics, or video games. If you're pushing opinion, it's not journalism. Period. There's nothing wrong with putting your thoughts out there, but mislabeling it as journalism is dishonest and misleading. Take some pride in your work.

And please, don't ignore the power of a title. An honest title would have told potential readers exactly what you were gonna talk about, but instead, you chose one that would simply ignite whatever fanboy rage is out there. It's lame and unprofessional.

I appreciate your answer and do agree with your thoughts, but you can basically see where the issues lie, can't you? It is more the instant thing that you will read, so many will browse an article rather than really read the whole thing.

Also just some better wording at times can make a huge difference, not to mention stating at first that your views are only from some very early/early/mid development/late development/etc. screenshots(Which is not once mentioned), just some better wording and making sure you cover your ends can go a long way(For example, "From the early footage/screenshots that I have seen of this game, it looks like it could be a challenger to the behemoth that GT5 will no doubt be" ?). ;)

This is basically the biggest issue and downfall of HHG, just thinking "Hmm, maybe this title could be wrong or could be seen as pure flamebait" could easily stop so many of the negatives propelled at the site, surely it would've only taken a few seconds to realise that a)The comment is 100% false and b)It will only attract the one type of reader, fanboys.

Too many times HHG articles are coming out with titles that are aimed at the wrong audience(That being fanboys), not to mention aiming the titles at getting the most hits/ratings, now no doubt as one of the millions upon millions of sites out there you want hits/ratings, but do you want them at the expence of credibility? I hope yours and everyone at HHG's answer is no, otherwise your site is heading in the worst direction.

Asking Jaffe to jump through a verbal hoop is like asking him to jump through an actual hoop naked smothered in Arby's Sauce.

It was a great interview, but I've always been told not to step over the person you are interviewing, and I see a little of that in the interviews HHG does when he cuts off the people the interviews when he talks over them when they answer to go "Oooooh!" or things like that. Other than that minor infraction, I loved the interview. I would also like to note that around 42:00 that HHG can hang well enough with a developer in terms of technical talk, which I found interesting.

I left writing because I didn't like where the publication was going -- my priorities were elsewhere. And that site is leagues more reputable than HHG.

If HHG's site is all you need for news and entertainment, then by all means, click those links. Help them thrive; it's your right. I, on the other hand, will not be supporting them until I can start trusting what they write; that's my right.

Jaffe had me lmao on a couple issue i have been having with a couple of games..

1) burnout.. i stop playing the game because i could not see where i should turn left or right or go straight.. Jaffe was dead on right... lol

2) socom.. i just bought the game for the head set. i had to wait an hour to down load the patches and stuff. i get online and the graphic or not up to par... but worse is that a guy had a fully load assault rifle with a silenter/zoom scope/red beam light and a dew rag on his head followed by dark color glasses. he killed me in three to four whipers of his gun..lol i had to wait in the viewing room after being killed for 5 minutes while my teammate played hide and stay still with the enemies. the pacing in this game is very unfair to noobs. i am not playing this game no time soon in the future. great interview...

I've sat in the development studio and played away for a day and it thrashed any GT game I've ever touched. I pulled MattG up on the NFS:S article because he had based his 'opinions' on very little evidence, not to mention the article was not very well written and explained, not one mention of how he knew this and what he had seen.

I really have to lol at being called a fanboy, the thing you don't know is that I have actually barely even played a GT game(I don't even like racing games!), thing is I work of facts, not bullcrap, faux opinions and rating/hit grabbing headlines/articles and the facts here are that certain exclusive games will always have better graphics than multiplatform games(Technically speaking at least), it's simply fact, because spending time on just the one console will always garner better results than one spent on several, on the PS3 this has been shown to be a fact proven time and time again, despite what ANYONE says, graphics on the PS3 are far superior technically than any other console.

You say that what you have played of NFS:S thrashes anything GT has brought out, might be true, but not so when GT5 appears.

I realise that YOU may have been talking about the whole gameplay of GT5, and to an extent MattG might have been too, but my reasons for calling mainly on the graphical aspects was his reply of "I saw screens on the game, looked at what the team worked on in the past, and the time they put into this game", now you can hardly gather HOW a game plays from screenshots, and as much as we can try and kid ourselves, developers past games mean nothing when it comes to new games either(Plenty of examples this gen anyway), so basically that is my main reasons for pulling up that article from MattG, games will always look pretty good from what is written and a few screenshots, but I will not apologise for having a go at him for writing it when it was based on such little evidence, you I could see writing an article and leaving it be, because not only have you seen the game but you have played it too, but when you have someone going from screenshots/dev history/rumoured features(Yes rumoured, "The game will come with between 60 and 100 cars at launch", that is a rumour and no solid answer), I just don't think it could be seen as a credible article or for that matter a very well researched one.
