If I didn't have a 360, I'd wait a bit longer for the $100 price cut and, most importantly, for all the faulty Xbox 360's on the market to clear out first.

"crappy price drop" - are you serious?? whether it was a $5 f'n coupon or a $200 reduction, it is still cheaper than it was. Or are you comparing it to the temporary price drop that sony has so nicely given to us?

mboojigga6118d ago

Are you comparing this price drop for a system that has been on the market for almost 2 years vs a system on the market less then a year that needed to a price drop? Yeah Okay

TR0N6118d ago

...because they are smart. a price drop is a price drop, no matter how small it is, it is still a true drop compared to what sony did which was just basically the old switcharoo. the ps3 prices are still $500 and $600 and by MS doing this they are essentially saying to Sony: "Its your move byatch"

the ps3(60GB)price cut force MS to drop the price of all the x360 SKUs.

A console is *supposed* to have a price cut at this time in its life cycle. In fact, 360 is overdue for a price cut. 360 is the console that has lasted the longest without having a price cut.

Rageanitus6118d ago

A product is not "supposed" to have a price cut

Price cuts usually occur based on
1) pressure from competition
2)liquidation of old product line to make way for new

DirtyRat6118d ago

If you buy a 360 now, you'll most likely get one which won't be faulty, but I agree the proce drop is pretty poor really, and Europe doesn't get it either which sucks considering the US price is already massively cheaper.

the_round_peg6118d ago (Edited 6118d ago )

The news story is here:

http://www.n4g.com/xbox360/...

Those leaked photos show an upcoming price cut in Europe. But the story is posted under a ridiculously obscure and irrelevant headline, and so no one has even noticed the news about a price cut in Europe.

sjappie6118d ago (Edited 6118d ago )

or a sale at Mediamarkt to get rid of the old 360 hardware. It also says one console per customer, wich is strange for an official price cut. But I hope they will drop the price in Europe so I can replace my premium with an elite, I hope for 400 euros.

Zhuk6118d ago

its better than nothing but more needs to be done to get this system cheaper in all territories, not just the United States

Odion6118d ago

its going to be cheaper in NA, and Europe, and Japan already has a price drop.

Look if the 20 dollar price cut of the Hd-DvD player can boost its sales by 1000% then this will do something.

Again though, it lasted longer then any other system without having a price drop.

They aren't going to give more. We are talking about a company that has rereleased an 13 year old game at least 5 times.

Doesn't seem to be that bad of a month. Got a bit of something for everyone.

Please do not support braid anniversary edition. Don't support Phil phish, he's a very despicable person, a a cry baby.

One example

Wrong developer. Phil Phish was the developer behind Fez.

Jonathan Blow was behind Braid. If you're gonna cancel culture, don't take down the wrong indie...

CrimsonWing6911h ago

Man, I don’t know why, but it also irks me when people try to tell others what to do. Fez was an awesome game, I couldn’t care less if the dev was a douche.

This is just extra cringe since the person actually doesn’t know what they’re talking about 🤦‍♂️

TimeShift - FPS Game Standing the Test of Time

TimeShift had a fairly muted launch in 2007, and while it doesn't rewrite the FPS rulebook it does offer an enjoyable campaign even now.

I played this on PC when it came out, it was actually good

Astrokis1d 5h ago

Same! For its time I liked it a lot

It's a good game need a new one.

CantThinkOfAUsername1d 3h ago

Never heard of this game until someone mentioned it here last year. Played it and it basically represents most games from the PS3/Xbox360 era—good graphics, amazing physics, and extremely fun gameplay (time powers rock), but barely any story, weird pacing, and at least one annoying AF level. I finished Prototype last week and the same applies, except Strike Teams. Fuck Strike Teams.

I miss when ganes used to experiment with physics and world interaction

This game actually works on a decent phone using Winlator 6.1, amazing times.
