The man with the hammer is back again: no bans but price

It has started... The 360 pricdrop is here. In The Netherlands at the largest consumer electronic store MediaMarkt the pricedrop has been confirmed.

All 360 packs, Core, Premium and Supersize package (goodies deal) are down 50 Euro. Elite is not out yet, but is expected to start at 399 to 429 Euro.

In eu and japan x360 is already dead.

It is the least selling console there.

IN USA too it wont help .

after the price cut ps3 has overtaken x360 in sales all over the world including NA.

It will only get better for ps3 with time.

This will make the 360 the same price as the Wii,$250. It will give consumers a lot to think about.

I would say pricepoint is the most important factor to a lot of consumers. Seeing as how the Wii has been flying off shelves.

This is a smart move by MS in my opinion. A premium is now 150 bucks cheaper than a 60 gig ps3! ouch The elite is 150 cheaper than the 80 gig plus it comes with a headset and an hdmi cable unlike the ps3.

Good point but it is still a huge price difference and i plus many others dont like having games picked for me (what if you dont like racing games). Please don’t take my comments as fanboy comments, I own a ps3 that i love to death and I feel that the price is worth what you get but it is expensive by most people’s standards.

Is it even because he's a fanboy or because he's right? Why would someone buy something that has a decent chance of dying on them, forcing them to return it to MS and get a new one. Thats a hassle I don't think anyone wants. I'm having to RMA my mobo atm and its no fun, I can't imagine returning a 360 is either.

Considering everybody knows about MS's RROD and heard MS's response to do right by the consumers the most they would know(average person) is they get a 3 year warrenty and MS's fixing the problem no one sitting around waiting for "hardware revisions" as if they know about it(trolls and complainers or just well informed gamers don't count they spend alot of time on the web).

Why would anyone by a console So stupid that the controllers run their own batteries down because the designer was not smart enough to make them auto shutoff when they are not being used. The Sixaxes controller will stay on as long as the PS3 is on until finally it runs it own batteries down. Also, if the battery goes bad, it's not 11 bucks like an XBOX360's battery, you have to replace a perfectly good controller (and Sony claims they love their customers)

Hell, I don't even think the PS3 shuts down when it has been idle for hours. Unnecessary power consumption = $.

Why do you have to spend 30 minutes download demos (whenever there's one on PSN that is worth downloading) and then have to spend another 10 minutes waiting for the stupid thing to install it after you've downloaded it.

Why is it if you move you PS3 from one TV to another that doesn't support that particular screen resolution, the thing will NOT auto detect and change resolutions. Why do you have to set the machine back to factory defaults and loose all of your previous settings.

Why do PS3 FANBOYS always feel a need to come on 360 threads and bash the 360 if their console is so superior, shouldn't it speak for itself. What's with the constant advertising by Sony fanboys (no charge to Sony I might add.)

I bought a PS3, and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure I like it yet. Too many little nuances that just bug the hell out of me. Maybe my 360 has spoiled me by taking care of the things that I think should be a no brainer while the PS3 doesn't.

I really hate to bash my own PS3, but you guys are too annoying, you won't shut up. And I'm here to say the 360 has it problems we all know this, but SO DOES THE PS3. Sony's not paying me so I owe them nothing and neither do you!

if that is true M$ is being greedy by not dropping the core $50, actually they should have just dropped it $100 to get the core to the sweet spot and bring in the millions of casual MASS MARKET consumers and destroy the competion.

A simple, straight-foward title like "360 Price Cut in Europe?" would have had more impact and given PS3 fanboys more grief. You've just wasted a good story with a dumbass title.

Let me teach The Mart the art of making a good headline.

You have to keep it simple, and get to the point. We know people in Europe want a price cut for 360, so if you mention a "360 price cut in Europe" in your headline, then the headline will get their attention.

Instead, you use a ridiculously meaningless, irrelevant headline: "The man with the hammer is back again: no bans but price". What is that supposed to mean? It has nothing to do with the subject or story. It is irrelevant and meaningless.

There are hundreds of news and titles on this website, and dozens of news submitted every hour. People do not have time to read all of the stories. They only read a news if the headline appears to be relevant to them. When people look at your headline, most of them would just move on without clicking on it because your headline makes no sense and is not relevant to what they want to know.

I think this is some kind of promotion for MediaMarkt. The red text at the price tag of the Premium system sais "Only one console per customer".

I hope I'm wrong, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
