Not really the same type of game, but would also take years of continued success to “crush”cod. At any given time there are over 10 million ppl playing on cod a day. This peaked at 600k so far.
Also wasn’t everyone on this site just bitching about games as a service?
But the ps5 is also an amd gpu… I find this strange
It’s not as bad when Sony does it….
Industry trades: “92% of game studios are working on GAAS titles”
Gamers: “this is ridiculous! Have fun going out of business, studios! Nobody wants them”
*Palworld and the Finals goes live and instantly blows up with insane player counts straight away*
Gamers: “I want my single player games!”
*alan wake ii and prince of Persia launch to critical acclaim and awards but struggle to sell units*

I’m gonna blow your minds. The first rule of economics is supply and demand. Studio’s are making games that are in demand. The games with the biggest commercial success and profitability lately have been live service games. Now you guys are complaining about how awful that is but never stop to think of why it is. They are doing it because these games are the safer way to find success. So while you guys complain, gamers as a whole globally are saying otherwise. That’s why games like palworld a...
It’s actually the opposite. The schedules are easier and they produce more money. That’s why they are making them. Economics 101 bro. You think everyone started copying the iPhone back in the day cuz it was doing poorly and everyone hated it? The trends go to what’s popular and profitable. Whether you hate them or not, gamers as a whole are voting with their money and the industry is responding. Sony included.
Overreacting is what gamers do best tho… followed by hyperbole
Cuz they make more money when successful. And the ones that are successful, prove ppl will play them. The only ppl that seem to have a problem with these games are purists and elitists. I personally don’t really play any seriously (tho the finals is pretty good), but I don’t necessarily have a problem with them. I actually like competition with other ppl.
That’s fantastic. The bummer tho is if it’s at concept phase then it’s still years away.
Whelp. That’s only gonna make things worse.
YOU DONT OWN THE GAMES YOU BUY. you are buying a license which grants you the right play a copy of the game on your hardware. You are subjected to all the terms in the terms of service agreement you blow through when you get that game. Those terms actually tell you that the publisher can do whatever they want with the title and what you can’t do. They can do this cuz again YOU DONT OWN THE GAME. You own the plastic disc and case it comes in.
If people could just wrap their...
This is nothing new. Physical sales are down year over year. Distribution of physical media is more expensive but no extra money is made and users in general are starting to trend in favoring digital sales. This is why video game stores are starting to struggle. This isn’t new, but the purists just refuse to accept it. I’m just a messenger here.
Stupid reason to skip what looks to be an amazing release.
Fight it all you want but discs are dying.
I can already see it. A total splatoon clone but the reviews and fans alike “it’s amazing 10 out of 10” “innovative!!” “Sony does it again”
its a name with zero context. it could have an explanation, or its a temporary name. of course its the internet so we must overreact.
its not really that funny...

so now we have to criticize not just xbox, and its games, but also the names of the games.... guys. I've got news for you... there's a ton of stupid game names.
well... its more powerful... by a lot. that's how. I have two 4090s in my pc (mostly for 3D work but I can still game) and if the 4080 is even in the ballpark of the 4090 it blows my ps5 and series x out of the water in terms of performance. like... 4k 60 fps with all the settings cranked isn't really a problem. don't need to make any sacrifices like the consoles do.
at the end of the day, the goal for any business is to make money, not be an exclusive club. Exclusives make less money, simply because they are less accessible by the most people. When you make a game exclusive, you are effectively cutting off sections of potential sales. The primary goal of an exclusive is usually to raise that console's sales. Sony and MS don't really make money on console sales, but they do make money on services and software, so that's why they usually do exc...
Gamers: we hate GAAS
Also gamers: we’re all playing GAAS.
