Surely yellow journalism like this should have the website domain banned from the aggregator?

N4G was once quite reputable, but now it's a ghost town and the primary reason is playing "the game". These glorified blogs know how to manipulate N4G to get hits and N4G lets them, yet lose fans.

The more fans, the more ad views, the more profit. So surely it's in N4G's best interest to start banning sh!t like this in order to get the old comm...

Wrong. It's not any store doing this maliciously or for profit, it's just dumb f'ing journalism. The same sh!t we've been putting up with for this whole generation.

I worked at Gamestation for 4 years. It's official practice to put sticker prices at the top right so its easier for customers to see how much a game costs. If that game is in the sale and needs a price drop sticker, you put it under the old sticker so it's still easy for the customer to se...

@ziggurcat

The only measure they had in place was crossing their fingers and hoping someone wouldn't crack the "universal key" to their system; a text string they themselves use to decode their own crypts. Credit where credit's due as it took the modding community years to get it, so props to Sony.

However, to use your analogy, yes I would blame banks and home owners who use the same precautions as Sony. Why build a house with a flimsy door,...

The reason there isn't an uproar about this is because it was based on Kotaku's own blogspam THEORIES. Note: see hysteria.

The reason there was an uproar against the Sony hacking shenanigans was because they were absolutely irresponsible with their data. It's web development 101: protect your $4!7.

Why will you lose faith in humanity?

It's aimed at a market different to our own. The people that grew up with Star Wars are past their mid-40s now and likely to be nothing more than casual gamers.

The most recent iteration of Star Wars was the Clone Wars series (to my knowledge) which is another casual audience.

This game is meeting both those markets in the middle. If you want to complain then do it about the Force Unleashed II. That ...

I'm more inclined to agree with you.

Don't forget that a large portion of 343 Industries are ex-Bungie employees, like Frankie O'Connor. I think the question should be less "Can Halo succeed without Bungie" but more "Can Bungie succeed with new management".

Do you know why he was exposed?
Do you know that that "member" was just someone who ran an IRC?
You do know that the caught "leader" was nothing to do with LulzSec?

By the way, can I have your CC# and name?

@jadenkorri

Essentially, they did.

How cocky an attitude is it when a company decides to keep one closed environment where you play online, developers test their connectivity, developers access the PSN, you access the PSN, and store everything on that said network, in the vain hope that 'Hackers' are too stupid to worm their way in there? Not only this, all the above information was stored with little to no encryption.

I don't kno...

@sack_boi

What the fuck is wrong with you?

You don't owe that company anything, they essentially handed your details to a group of God-knows-what.

You think that money goes through everyone in the company? No, it goes straight to the CEOs.

Do something meaningful and donate it to charity, douche.

Very well said.

It's hard to believe people can support such a complete disregard of their safety just because it's for a company "they side with".

The best part is that these are the same bunch that scoffed at Microsoft because the testing they implemented couldn't predict time; the original 360s broke down, on average, at the first year mark.

At least that company took some form of measures to ensure there was at leas...

Anonymous attacked their business practices first and foremost.

The fact that your credentials were stored on an open network in plain-text is telling of why Sony needed this spanking.

Jesus, are you not capable of rational thought?

No, the original 60GBs have the PS2 compatibility. Remember? The ones that went out of production within ~1.5 years?

Your PS3's OpenOS was forcibly removed. What if I want to play newer releases? I have to update, therefore removing the OpenOS capabilities.

Sony stored personal information across a whole network instead of sandboxing it. It's one of the first things they teach you in web development. They're handling millions of users personal i...

Really?

Sony have stripped the PS3 to its bare bones by removing backwards compatibly, removing OpenOS, distributing subpoenas left, right and centre, etc and now someone has taken a stand to that it turns out your personal information (including your credit card numbers) had no security whatsoever and you're still comfortable enough to follow them to the ends of the Earth?

These absolute nutjobs stored ALL of your supplied information as plain text and e...

Fable III's launch was marred by the launches of Kinect and Black Ops, both of which had infinitely more hype.

God of War III, a Sony flagship title, released unchallenged.

Pretty big 'herp derp' on your part.

Happy Birthday, and here's to another 5 great years of gaming.

4923d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

But 360 owners completely passed on Fable III, Kinect and Black Ops?

Without the actual numbers it's hard to determine how much more the 360 sold, but considering this is the largest launch for an Assassin's Creed game, that extra 5% might be a large margin.

Still, VERY good for Ubisoft and a great series. Keep it up, gamers.

Guntrol. You've just proved me right; learn to read before you try to throw out your biased opinion.

That or just save time and make a new account called 'Gun-troll' because it's more fitting.
