They mentioned that Cortana was alive since a long while ago.

http://www.gamespot.com/art...

She was even in one of the promo videos Microsoft was showing off several months ago.

I suppose if you didn't follow any of the news it's easy to believe it was a spoiler but the fact she's just in the game was no secre...

They have several services... but yeah NicoNico lets them put up a lot of stuff that would never see the light of day on Twitch due to being way too NSFW. They have no reason at all to switch.

The people disagreeing are those who believe Carmack stands in a league of his own.

Keep in mind that without id Software we wouldn't have the first-person shooter genre in the way that we know it.

They pioneered plane-depth interaction, they were the first to pioneer a fully 3D rendered commercial game with the Quake Engine, and they revolutionized the FPS genre.

Without Carmack there wouldn't be people pushed to compete with id, suc...

Just to correct you on something:

Konami is using the Fox Engine to power the PES games. So it wasn't just "used once" on MGS 5 Ground Zeroes and MGS 5 Phantom Pain.

In the old Doom it supported up to 16 players across all of the game's single-player maps. Depending on the map depended on how many players could be in the map and how hectic it was.

That is to say, there was a lot of variety and choice in the multiplayer back then. I prefer the devs adding in the options and letting players decide how many or few players they want to play with in multiplayer.

But as Perjoss points out, thankfully players will get to de...

Lost Planet 2 had tight controls. Massive, awesome boss fights. Tons of weapons and mechs. From a pure gameplay perspective I replayed Lost Planet 2 a lot.

Objectively speaking it was a well designed game as far as mechanics were concerned and it had a lot of unlockable content that wasn't premium DLC.

Dead Space 3, objectively speaking, was also well designed as far as mechanics go, but as a horror game it failed to capture the horror.

Agreed. The Dreamcast controller was clunky and difficult to hold, similar to the original Xbox controller before they upgraded to the S Controller.

My favorite so far is still the Xbox 360 controller, but I'll reserve that opinion until I've played with the Steam controller.

How can you measure that people aren't playing split-screen when they play offline?

Was just about to comment about that...

Lens flare from a light bulb?

Someone must have bought "Sun-Dipped" light bulbs from the local mart.

Yeah WTF is Vice smoking? Ah, SJW blunts.

Greatest Sonic ever is Sonic 3 and Knuckles by a long shot. That game provides for almost endless replayability.

I'm not going to give them clicks but did Vice even say why Sonic 2 was the greatest ever?

Right now the most top of the line PCs are running Wii U games at barely single digit FPS, so it will be a while.

I really do hope no one goes out to spend a thousand bucks or so on a PC to run Wii U software because in the long run that actually wouldn't be worth it unless you already have Wii U games, you know how to dump ROMs, and you were planning on upgrading anyway.

Haven't you heard? Game journalists "evolved" into hipsters and declared actual gamers "dead".

@GameDev1

What are you talking about? Night Trap fit the comedy horror genre and also had branching paths and that was way back in the 1990s on the Sega CD.

He just mentioned Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy and Beyond: Two Souls, all of which had branching paths as well.

There was nothing "new" in Until Dawn in terms of being an interactive movie experience. That doesn't detract from the quality of the game or the performances, ...

You don't have to wait. There's a guide on signing up for the Russian beta (which is free) and all you need is the English translation patch.

It won't take any longer than signing up for the English beta. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Corporate apologism.

There is NO reason why games have to cost $100 million.

Why should gamers need to foot the bill (or pay the backend) for expenses they didn't ask for?

In the case of Star Citizen, gamers specifically asked for an AAA PC exclusive that cost $100 million so they literally are footing the bill for it from top to bottom.

In every other case was it necessary for games to cost $100 million with more than ha...

Never heard of this game. Looks pretty cool, though.

Actually Battlefront 2 did have a DLC pack but it was pretty cool and added in a few extra levels and stuff. It wasn't ripped content from the main game.

They haven't begun animation modding yet (or at least I haven't been made aware of it yet)

You can use the director mode to get some of the effects working they way they do in the video above. But there are also a lot of third-party tools used as well, such as trainers and post-production effects.

Thanks for the info about the third-person. I was pressing the D-pad before but only taunted.

@Immorals well there's no TPS mode in the beta and even so it's still horribly generic and doesn't discount from the fact that the game is really boring and stilted.

The lack of manually getting in vehicles really kills it for me.
