Death stranding having stealth mechanics aside, what do you mean "returned"? The last game he made was a stealth game. It seems reasonable to let him do at least 1 non-stealth game before calling for a "return" I think.

Pretty sure they both came out in 2015 (the witcher and dying light) and the witcher 3 was probably the most popular pick for game of the year...

Its kindof funny to me how people look back on destiny as being beloved. I'm pretty sure that at launch it got modest reviews and not a great player reaction either.

Are star wars galaxy of heroes and force arena canon? They exist (post disney canon purge). Also should note that galaxy of heroes includes several KOTOR characters. I don't think it matters if the games are canon or not.

As a huge fan of gears, I really didn't like 4 at all (I was less impressed with 4 than I was with judgement and that is saying a lot). When they announced 5 it did absolutely nothing for me and I currently have no plan to even try it.

Interestingly, the spin-off tactics actually did look interesting to me and I will probably get that.

I would like to see gears 2 get the same remaster treatment (or better) that gears 1 got.

Older battlefield games had longer time to kill (and in general I tend to find longer time to kill games favoring the more skilled, not universally of course), so no I wouldn't say they dumbed it down. But yes, the change was made with the stated purpose of aiding the new player experience.

Quick search gave me this: "Monolith sold the publishing rights, but not the IP for Blood and its sequel to GT Interactive. GTI was later acquired by Infogrames, which has since been renamed to Atari."

Probably why?

From the article: "It’s unclear why these games didn’t make the cut for Sony, though the company has stated there will be no post-launch games for the system, indicating that they won’t make an appearance on the mini-console in the future."

Given that, and under the assumption that this is true, it seems more likely that the games would have been possible titles that were cut / not supported for one reason or another. Maybe licensing issues, maybe just a a choice ...

I am pretty much in the same place. The main difference is I did actually like inquisition... sortof. In many ways it still was not the game that it should have been but at the time it looked like it took some steps in the right direction (more rpg systems). However, one of the dlc for the game (trespasser) I thought was great. To me it felt much more in line with how origins was and I would have been happier if they had built the whole game like that instead of the generic open world designe...

I agree on the first statement, I am really looking forward to this. On the second statement i'm more torn. On one hand I feel it deserves a full purchase but on the other the game hasn't been getting a lot of buzz and a ps+ offering would get more people in the door to play and create. Ultimately I am happy to purchase it and can't say for sure how it will do at launch so I don't think it would hurt to launch it normally and see how it does, then give it a ps+ month later on ...

Kindof confused with the rift forming over this game.... Personally I really enjoyed the last two games and I am pretty sure I will enjoy this one. The foundation from those I feel is quite solid so with new adventures to play through I am fairly confident that I will be happy.

I personally also like prey more but can't like your comment as I have no problem with the depressing tone of dishonored. In fact I like that and other games with a similar tone. Prey however, feels a lot like deus ex or system shock and does this really well in my opinion (it has its flaws but over-all it was a great experience).

I don't particularly care for fortnite (especially its battle royale aspect) but I don't recall it struggling before br (not that there was a long period of time between launch and its inclusion of br... less than 3 months).

I would like to see DA4, but like what seems to be most people here I am not convinced it would be done right. I DID like inquisition BUT while it was a step back in the right direction (bringing back more rpg elements, combat wasn't spammy or as shallow as DA2) it also took steps in the wrong direction (still lacked some of the variety of dialogue and story choices of origins, they generic open world zone design rather than the level design seen in and expected of dragon age, lore direct...

Actually as a fan of the souls series in general (and souls-like titles) demon souls is the one I like least of all (of the souls series, not counting souls-likes). By comparison to the others its relatively clunky and not balanced as well. All of the bosses except 2 or so (specifically maneaters) were strangely not-challenging and overly gimmicky. Also can't agree about anything in particular being memorable aside from the nexus, and the final boss because its more of a plot point than a...

By that logic, the majority of people who play violent video games would be violent in real life, which they aren't. There are at least 10s of millions of people, if not hundreds of millions over the history of gaming that have played violent games and how many are causing problems? Yeah, not only is what you said not a fact in any way but its a painfully incorrect opinion.

@uth11 They are. https://www.polygon.com/201...

They aren't in debt because making games isn't profitable. If that were the case, developers/publishers that don't take advantage of those practices while also not having huge block-buster ip under their control would surely be impossible to be successful which isn't the case.

I can't say I agree with this. While it wasn't as visually dark as 1 and 2 I feel like it fits in perfectly fine with the other two games. I feel like the story being told was a perfect fit for the series and the way it was told was great imo (though I can appreciate if some preferred the comic book style transitions). Personally I'd like another entry in the series from rockstar (though I wouldn't complain if it somehow ended up back with remedy).

I still enjoyed 2, it still kept some of the neat things from the first one. Having said that, the first is considerably better, I'd rather the 3rd (somehow) end up being made by machine games which seems to be where a fair amount of the darkness/butchers bay devs ended up.

Fable legends wasn't an mmo from what I recall. It was an asymmetric vs game like evolve or biowares canceled shadow realms. You had a team of hero players being fought against by one player controlling the enemy.

Article is mistaking the 10m number for concurrent subs. Its total accounts created, which isn't remotely close to WoW. I don't care for WoW, this is just disingenuous.
