AND probably have a lot more fun, if you just go out and buy yourself a copy of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

That's what we call BS.

Over the years I think I've probably read at least 1000 comments which claimed that the Wii "will kill," "is killing," or "has killed" video games.

Funny thing is that in all that time the video game industry has shown NO SIGNS of just going belly up.

I can understand complaints that the Wii's line-up is mostly shovelware; because it is. But looking at games coming out for the PS3 or 360 or PC (ex. C...

I thought the demo was sorta "meh."

The terrain deformation is pretty cool, but in my opinion it's not deep enough to base an entire game on - which is what LucasArts seems to have done with Fracture. And outside of the terrain deformation there really isn't much to this game we haven't seen. From what I can tell, the story is pretty generic too.

It was OK though. Fun enough (although the gunplay itself felt a little too simple for my taste). And I thin...

I wasn't expecting much from this... I had always thought it was basically just a downloadable PC game that got ported to Wii.

Apparently it's much more.

Maybe I'll actually have a reason to use my Wii this holiday season.

I really love this podcast.

No joke, it's hard for me to get my work done on Thursdays because I always have to listen to Podcast Beyond. I consider it essential listening for any serious PS3 owner.

But that's not really a fair statement. Because Guitar Hero comes out with like a bazillion SKUs, it's been around for a longer time, and it's a lot less expensive so it's an easier purchase for casuals. Not to mention that GH3 had a MUCH better offering on Wii (which became its #1 bestselling platform) than Rock Band.

But I'll be interested to see how World Tour sells in comparison to Rock Band 2.

A whiny guy dressed like the original PC actor complaining about the "I'm a Mac" ads?

This is a joke, right? MS didn't trade Jerry Seinfeld for THIS idea, did they?

That's gotta be a joke.

...So shouldn't it be on BAD Joystick?

That way you've got a license to Warhead that stays attached to your Steam account as long as it exists.

It occurs to me that this whole conflict over DRM could make Steam the dominant method of PC game releases. Pretty likely, actually, because EA and Valve already have a pretty close relationship.

He would be awesome.

Or maybe Steve Carell?

Those two are genius improvisationalists and actors. And each one, coincidentally, stars in "The Office" of his respective country. They would make sense because they're both associated with a Windows-dominated office environment already.

You never said "for the last couple years" in your original comment. So people could infer that you think Windows XP, staying intact through the Anti-Trust lawsuit, and the unprecedented connectivity of Xbox Live were all failures.

@ 5.3
You've put me in the position of DEFENDING a company that I don't like. That's a position that I don't much enjoy being placed in, but here goes.

First, I'll admit that the Anti-Trust lawsuit brought Microsoft noth...

Let's give MS a break here.

I mean... it's not like Sony's PR department has been hugely successful either. The thumb-penis comes to mind...

...I just realized how weird it sounds to say "the thumb-penis comes to mind..."

Windows Vista is ALSO a waste of money!

HA!

*nervous cough*

And with 4 agrees?!

I mean... why is it GOOD news? Had the ads not been cancelled, you wouldn't have to watch them if you didn't want to. And if you really hate MS (as, from your comments http://www.n4g.com/up/42964... I get the feeling you do) then while some of us could enjoy the ads, you would get to see see Microsoft gradually bury itself in a PR ditch.

Everybody wins.

is that they weren't really meant to advertise any specific Microsoft product. Lord knows that Microsoft has done a fine job of advertising their products with ads such as the Windows Mojave Experiment or their "Jump In" series. They were just meant to combat the nerdy image that was being given to them in Apple's "I'm a Mac" commercials.

But from the 1 Agree and 7 Disagrees currently on my first comment, I'm getting the vibe that they didn't succeed in that...

I'm pretty disappointed by this. I don't say that because I'm some xbot or whatever who hungers over everything that Microsoft makes... really. I'm actually a PS3 man meself.

I say it because personally - and maybe I'm just unhip - I actually liked the ads. They had a non-sequitur humor that was funny in a daring sort of way. If nothing else, I felt as though they were just a couple of installments off from really hitting their comedic stride.

Ah well. They are ...

I hope we'll see a better frame rate than that in the final product. Hopefully it's just the video.

Don't get me wrong, some of those graphics are gorgeous. But I'm not in love with the FPS. The whole purpose of Sonic games is to give a sense of speed; if that framey gameplay is SONIC TEAM's idea of speed, then count me out.

I concur that it's highly probable Nintendo will begin offering a cloud computing solution.

Not only is such an approach economically and technologically feasible, but it prevents Nintendo from scaring away casual customers.

Excuse me?

Also, could there be a WORSE time to reveal a game that features hurricanes as a gameplay element?

I think that the "let's just kill it" guy is British.

In fact, he definitely is.

...So... were you kidding? Or something? Making fun of the presumably American scriptwriters?
