It would be great if they did bring in some stars from other forms of entertainment though.
I am surprised they got this running on the NES, and before that the Commodore 64. It is impressive looking. I am planning on picking up the NES version when it is released.
What about getting a 3D printed case for this? Surely there will be some created once these are released and people can get measurements for the board.
Now you got me wanting the case now to put something else in it. Lol
Which one did you like the most from the original trilogy? Everyone loves 2 but I was partial to 3 myself.
I wish. It is getting tougher to wait for this one as more stuff is released. Hopefully it is not building up to the point that no matter what the game cannot stand up to the hype.
@CorndogBurglar, did you see the ZAMN Doom II crossover someone is making?
Definitely has a Haunting, Starring Polterguy look going on.
That would have worked too, I think. Lol. Maybe someone else can use it on their demake of Resident Evil?
This was one that was perpetually on my wish list as the stores local to me at the time (small northern California town) were sold out and wanted a $10 down payment to order it (absurd to my as a 13 year old). Instead I ended up with that Tecmo wrestling game with the announcer that seemed to be full of caffeine.
Steam page was just made available earlier today. I am not sure if I am allowed to link directly but it is available.
Funny the main people I see pushing "Metroidvania" are 'journalists' such as those on Kotaku. Want it to stop, then be the beginning of that change, otherwise it is just hypocritical.
There are free converters that will convert SMS ROMs into a format that will play on the Sega Genesis flash carts. There is that option but it is not a perfect solution.
What is cool here is that it is randomly generated levels so it is a new game every time you play. Talk about value for your dollar.
Have you seen the Atari 2600 versions of Super Mario Bros and Sonic the Hedgehog yet? The developer behind those is the one doing Robot Zed here.
I am not aware of hard sales figures but the C64 Mini is apparently selling well enough that publishers are releasing games for it along with other options (other digital options and physical copies) - the newest Farming Simulator game being one that is seeing a retro release on C64 cartridge and has a C64 Mini file available, or will soon.
I personally love the C64 and have been covering new games for it for years now with no signs of stopping as long as there are great developers making games for it.
It is true a lot of developers go for the lowest possible resolution, whether due to porting necessity or something else, but in the right hands, as we can see here and in Sam's Journey (another C64 newer release) there is a lot of power under the hood that is often untapped.
Yes, they include a version for the C64 Mini when you purchase it via the Itch.io link (they also provide many other versions as well). They really did great on supporting current options to play their game.
Are you thinking of another game? I don't think Piko Interactive, the publishers of these games, was in attendance at E3.
So easy to get lost in A Link to the Past and while away hours as you ignore real life. It really is a great game. Have you tried out A Link Between Worlds on 3DS yet? It really is very similar but different and one that can consume hours if you let it.
