Someone mentioned Dragon Crystal on YouTube and I looked it up, I have to find that game, it looks so cool. I love how they did the change in walls to show you have explored there, nice touch.

Oh, I definitely agree.

This is not my project, I am just covering it for other fans of Castlevania. I think it is awesome already though.

It was released on Saturn, PlayStation, and Neo Geo but never came out here in North America. This version though, this is the definitive version, I think, because the people behind the translation/hack included the best elements from the PlayStation and Saturn versions (SNK made each version slightly different).

It was apparently only mentioned in a short article in an older Nintendo Power and shown briefly on British television (probably a tech show). Other than that, it was never mentioned which is why none of us knew about it till now.

Hasbro is reviving it with new releases in the Tiger Electronics style (link at the end of the Cuphead article). They have some interesting IP's coming for it too. Probably going to be expensive though, unlike the original Tiger Electronics releases.

Unfortunately, that is a popular art style today. I personally prefer pixels and 16-bit style graphics myself.

Earthworm Jim 3D is canon as the third entry. It was on PC (I think) and I know for sure Nintendo 64.

Remember Gex (PlayStation, PC, 3DO, Saturn)? It was a decent game that was ruined by the overuse of the voice over. Not Super Mario World or anything but it was well above average but man, hearing Dana Gould say the same clip 12+ times in a short level was just annoying.

Unfortunately, probably so. They are asking $250 (standard) to $300 (limited edition) for the console. While I applaud them for bringing the original team back together, I have to wonder just how long this will stay "exclusive" to the Amico.

Not disagreeing with you. When these have seen release in physical format the person releasing them has usually kept it at 50 to 100 copies.

Kind of telling just how big this market is. Most are completist collectors buying them up or resellers hoping to 10x their money.

Digital releases are rare with these retro style games.

Piko Interactive is the only retro publisher I know that doesn't do the artificial limited supply with relea...

Over on GoG.com right now you can get Total Annihilation for free.

I hope that this does well so they see there are fans for these games, and games that lack microtransactions and such.

I am thinking about grabbing it. Even though I have the originals, I want to show them support for this type of thing - remastered, no DLC, no microtransactions, etc. Times like this is when gamers can show publishers there is a better way.

The time of Austin and Michaels certainly was a unique period. I don't think it will ever be recreated. Just too much needs to be right for things like that to work and take off. The problem is, I don't think even back then anyone knew how to do what they were doing as far as getting characters over with fans and such.

What wrestlers would you like to see make an appearance? I am hoping they can recreate some more of that classic Wrestlefest feel by bringing more of the wrestlers featured in that game here. Had they got Hulkster before the Gawker Media lawsuit they might have gotten him cheap.

He is an indie wrestler most recently on television with IMPACT Wrestling on AXS Television.

I am sure they would love to add athletes such as Sting but licensing is probably an issue. Not because of WWE but due to cost to add him (and others). Maybe if they get enough pre-orders and sales after launch we will see more well known wrestlers like Sting appear, even if only as "limited time" DLC.

While I grew up with Atari 2600 and then NES onward, I have to agree, some NES games are just unbearable today. Some are still great but I am not sure how much of that is nostalgic memories taking over my opinion. Others are clean and still awesome though.

Rygar is one I never got caught up into. I tried and just couldn't get into it.

Wild Guns is one I completely missed on the Super Nintendo.

I am a big fan of the Final Fight sty...

They have updated their status, according to IGN, to now only offer curbside service or digital purchases on their website. No in-store option for customers. I am sure a few people have already submitted news articles for this - I just updated the alternative article I added to this instead and will continue to do so. No need for 500+ articles on this.
