I'm glad Doom 3 got a good spot on the list. I freaked out all of my college friends with that game--in the first level, they were all on edge just watching me and we all jumped when I looked into the mirror in the bathroom.

Selling a sequel within a year of the previous installment seems to me an admission that either the previous or latest game really sucks.

MS is evil, and yet we need them. Pretty soon they'll be charging us to use the toilets in our own houses (which will also crash most of the time mid-flush) and yet we will still buy their products.

Would've been a funny joke if it had been a 360, but this is just flame bait. We could really do without worthless posts like this on N4G...

Gears of War is AMAZING. Makes the 360 worth while all by itself.

I didn't even buy it because of hype (I had no idea). I bought it just because, and haven't regretted it once.

That's pretty stupid--but what do you expect from a game that looks like it took a good two days to make anyways?

midgard229,

The reason Evil-Angel says that it's first party is because is published by MS game studios. It's developed by Epic, but MS publishes it. (Hence why you can get your disc replaced cheaply through the replacement program.)

I think a lot of 360 players just don't like JRPGs. If a JRPG is rated, though, it should be rated against others of the same genre, not against the ideals of western RPGs. JRPGs aren't about being able to do anything and everything that you want, but about going through an in-depth story.

I'm a fan of both kinds of RPG, and I loved the demo. I'm not even a huge anime fan and I think the graphics of ES are simply gorgeous. The combat system is innovative, and, being a fan of cl...

That is RIDICULOUS.

But if it uses an online verification process, you would think that at least it would store unique identification information of the install computer and allow it to be re-installed on the same computer (after a format), but only allow installation on two unique computers ever.

Either way that just sucks and should not be. It's copy protection gone way too far.

Can't get the source page to work.

Yeah, 20 hours is way too short. It may be a pretty game, but $60 is a lot for only two days of gameplay. I guess it's as long or longer than Gears (on the first run), but Gears' co-op and just the way the campaign is makes for lots of replay for me. I've been trying to decide between Two Worlds and Bioshock, and I might just go for Two Worlds because of this.

He makes a REALLY convincing argument. I wish there was some way his suggestion could be implemented. I definitely think his BR would be much more balanced than the BR as it is in Halo 2 (but I did not play the Halo 3 beta). It'd also stop a lot of the whining about the "noob combo" by making it harder to do.

I can relate with you, Charlie, in that it sounds good and makes me want to worry less, but then I remember how much talk Bethesda had before Oblivion and how disappointing the gameplay turned out to be (although the graphics were amazing). I'm still desperately worried that they are going to screw it up.

The humans look especially good--especially in the pic with the two guys sitting in chairs. At first I was like, is that a photograph they stuck in there? Their facial features just look more realistic, which is a big leap from Oblivion, where all the humans are obese, old, and terminally ugly.

What in the WORLD are you talking about, MADGameR?

I have to say, Bloodmask, that you're very right to pledge prayers. I don't mean to offend anyone that isn't religious, but my point only is that in such a baffling situation prayer is the best thing we can do. We see in this the horror of what a human being is capable of. We can't really point fingers at anyone but the kid. Maybe that kid isn't a monster--maybe it was just such bitter rage, maybe insanity, but now, regardless,...

I actually was really impressed with Gears because one of the main characters (Dom) is Mexican. I'm Mexican, and, uh, we aren't usually portrayed in a good light in video games, lol. I mean, these days for political correctness almost every game has a black man. Asians appear from time to time, too (i.e. Rainbow Six Vegas). Since hispanics are quickly becoming the largest minority in the United States, it's nice to have a video game with a heroic Mexican who isn't a drug dealer. On top of tha...

I just don't want them to make 360 players and PC players play in the same games. It would seriously unbalance the game.

Also, to be honest, Gears gameplay is really perfect for a controller. I can't imagine playing it with a mouse and having the same kind of experience. I'm stickin' to the 360.

Don't waste your money. Play the demo on marketplace and after fifteen minutes you'll never want to see the game again.

Haha - "One of the lesser known facts about the Nazi forces is their knack for teleportation. In fact, Hour Of Victory is the first source to document this, often surprising you with enemies spawning right in front of your eyes."

I wonder why it didn't get a 1? I think 2 must be as low as they rate games. Sounds like the only way this game could've been worse is if the disc frequently exploded during gameplay and fragments embedded themselves in the player's forehead....

Yeah, the demo is really, really bad. Incredibly short and boring, and awfully cheerful for such a horrible condition as war. The only thing I liked was the ability to melee with your gun up close--which, since I haven't played many WWII shooters, I do not know whether that is innovative or already standard.

It's not a myth. September does not count as summer in my book. All the good games are coming out in the fall, AFTER I go back to school. :oP Don't know how these people expect me to get any work done and get a degree.

I'm def. looking forward to the RPGs. The graphics on Eternal Sonata look AMAZING... seriously looks like you're watching a high-quality, painted cartoon.
