Boston is the last place I would ever want Fallout to go. But I've given up on expecting anything great from Bethesda's Fallout.

Not a very good article. Most of the stuff it complains about is just Skyrim, and some of the things it asks for already happen even in Skyrim. And the things the author says are great about Watch Dogs already happen in other games, like Sleeping Dogs.

Uh no. This article is wrong. (1) The perk system in Skyrim is good but needs improvement. (2) The kill animations are one of the best things in Skyrim, need to be kept and expanded. (3) Giant enemies would be stupid. (4) We don't need horses in Fallout. We should get a car, if anything. I don't just want a "Skyrim with guns."

Heh, it sounds bad when you say it like that, but I agree, the tactical gameplay from DA:O was great. It brought me back to the good ol' days of Fallout 1 & 2. It was much more realistic, since it took time for people to aim bows, swing swords, etc. It wasn't a ridiculous hack-and-slash game.

I think they should improve the series by going back toward that kind of tactical gameplay, but implementing animations like in the Batman: Arkham Asylum series or Sleeping D...

Too much is wrong with it to even explain. Download the demo on Xbox Life and you'll see it instantly. The fact that Flemeth (Morrigan's old mother, the witch of the wilds) shows up out of the blue with a boob job and disturbingly revealing outfit for an old lady seems to say it all for me. But basically the tactical gameplay, the expansive game world (including the explorable map), and the depth of character creation are all lost. I don't mind console games, but Dragon Age 2 just...

I think the real-world origins of the names are more interesting than the made up lore. DOTA is a prime example. Who cares what the story is? The name, I think, has really nothing to do with the made-up back story and everything to do with the fact that the game is a clone of Aeon of Strife (AOS). It was clear that a cool-sounding name with a nice acronym was a staple of a popular Starcraft/Warcraft III map, and so they came up with DOTA/Defense of the Ancients.

Great list--spot on.

Eh, my expectations aren't that high. I always liked Doom3's engine better than the original Source engine, I think the Gravity Gun is lame, and Half-life 2's story is vague and poorly delivered. In order to modernize HL3, they will have to change a massive amount of how they make games. For one, they will have to make Gordon talk. They need to update controls, use a limited inventory, add more realistic AI and destructible environments. Most importantly, they need a better storyl...

Nope. You don't get Red Alert 3, you get the standalone expansion--which so far is none too impressive.

Boston would be lame.

Mikeyy is right: China would be interesting.

The problem is much older than the author even recognizes. It is a form of "messianism" that is a common component of stories especially in Western culture, because of its largely Judeo-Christian origins. This is not to say that such stories are more pleasing to us Christians, but only that the idea of a special individual who plays the primary role in world history is deeply rooted in a Jewish and Christian worldview, and is less relevant to ancient Buddhism, for example. Unfortuna...

Hooray! I love being able to use the Xbox 360 controller with PC games. The constant clicking with mouse in Diablo I and II not only wore out my mouse but my wrist. I really hope that they actually implement this for PC.

I definitely want Kim back. He and Dom are my favs. I don't think I'd pay for a character, though.

I don't know what game he's playing, but Starcraft 2 is definitely worth buying. I played through the campaign twice as soon as I got it and was wishing for more when it was over. Thankfully the online multiplayer and custom maps promise an endless flow of entertainment.

Hooray! We can keep making fun of it when it never comes out!

It's no fun if they don't at least pretend like they're going to finish it.

I actually think the opposite: some things are too new but the game is very balanced. Terrans are better in the early game than they were before, but there's too little difference between marauders, roaches, and stalkers. Some units that they got rid of I wish they would have kept, especially wraiths, guardians, and reavers. So far I dislike vikings--they just aren't good enough against a LOT of battlecruisers, and don't have cloaking, and aren't as endearing as goliaths.

SC1 required siege mode to be researched too.

Actually the siege tanks aren't much different from SC1. Not sure why they had to have a new name, just because they look a little different when they siege.

That's really impressive that they included that feature.

My only worry is that without the creeps and numerous superfluous units from War3, our resources for making SC2 maps will be more limited. Plus they made SC2 terrain a bit too much like the original--it's completely unbelievable, far from natural. Every planet in the Koprulu Sector has no trees, sharp cliffs, and perfectly symmetrical battlegrounds. Even SC1 has some trees--I wish they would increase the trees and the real...

HOORAY! I'm in! FINALLY!

I already preordered in the store a few days ago, but I just had to come in and show them the receipt, and they returned it and re-preordered it. Then the code was on my new receipt.
