This whole thing shows Sony's mismanagement. First off Sony huge support for home brew to get popularity to the PS3 when it came out was a misstep. PS4 you can bet they won’t do that again. The other issue is instead of hiring GeoHotz and asking him for help on cleaning up the security flaws, they attack him in a lawsuit. Anonymous got one of their main demands drop the GeoHotz lawsuit…. Plus they made Sony’s staff look stupid.

It's not like the guy released the hack. He said look you guys got a bug its not full proof. All we can see with this whole thing is the original bug can't really be patched.

Sony can't catch a break.

Good read. I know fanboys are going to cry but what can you say quantity doesn't replace quality.

We knew Sony had no chance of getting the hack off the Internet but this just immortalized the hack; all Twitter feeds are archived to The Library of Congress.

FFVII was PC also.

This is an apple to an orange comparison; you really can't compare the two RPG's. You have Japan's linear Style vs. Open world sandbox. The storyline with FF are way better, with characters being much deeper, and killer cut scene enhancing the story. On the other hand Fallout 3 is rich in exploration vats system is just killer. The world and settings are rich and you do feel like a lone wolf in a post atomic bomb era.

The older gaming core loved JRPG's sinc...

So you’re saying you have never come in contact with any of the following?

MP3 - Downloaded, Given to you by a friend, copied from a friend’s CD, or let a friend borrow a CD.

DVD - Watched a bootleg, copied a DVD you don't own, copied a DVD you do own as backup, converted a DVD you own into a digital copy, saved a You Tube video

Books - Made a photo copy of a book, made an e-book from a book, downloaded a copyright e-book.

On the next console, I'm sure Sony will think twice about allowing Homebrew. Another thing that will have to change is how the games are hosted. Sony will need to move away from clients to client host, to a client to dedicated server host platform.

Blizzard went through the same issues with hackers and they would patch patch patch but realized it was pointless.

NPD tracks sales numbers in addition to the company. So if Microsoft tried to fake it they would be called out rather quickly.

I've come to realize that the majority of the members on this site just hate the 360. If the VGChartz article says 360 is doing well, people scream VGChartz isn't legit. If NPD article is posted with 360 we hear Oo well that doesn't count the rest of the world like Europe and Japan sales. Now UK post that the 360 is doing well, and we here its obvious but Wii is better....

Agreed, but why does a Forza fan care what's in GT5? I guess if you were trying to state the obvious, but even so Forza fans are still going to buy Forza for things GT5 can't do like be a game on the 360. On the same note if you want GT5 you already have it or saving for it.

NPD only counts US sells. In addition the article was talking about NPD numbers and ars technica primarily gives news related to US Tech with a few articles showing up here and there relating to other places. So I have to wonder why we would be expecting the rest of the world’s numbers to be mentioned.

I would think if that was the case we would put up an article for Europe's NPD equivalent, GfK ChartTrack, Japan Media Create and Famitsu. My point is we wouldn’t read a...
