So that scumbag Don Mattrick was right about everything going digital, too bad he had to destroy the Xbox one by proposing this too early and making the console a "media center".

No, it has nothing to with "hipsters". Marvel and Disney have oversaturated the market with generic, awful superhero movies and stories. They apply their "global" box office/a.k.a. appeal to China strategy of dumbing movies down so they translate easily to foreign audiences. That's why the stories are mostly simplistic trash and everyone just makes jokes all the time. They tried to use the same model for Star Wars and destroyed the franchise.

So far it's exactly like the PS4 Spiderman game; combat stolen from the Arkham series, mediocre QTEs, super polished graphics and uninspired missions. The joke is that if this was a Sony exclusive people would LOVE it.

You're joking right? How could TLOU2 have microtransactions it's a single player game. Last of Us 1 had microtransactions in the multiplayer and so did uncharted 3 and 4. You could spend money on garbage like hats ffs. You don't know what you're talking about.

Quantum Break was Remedy's first truly mediocre game and Control was even worse. Even the writing in Control was garbage and that was always Remedy's strong suit so they're definitely on the decline. This awful business decision just takes their reputation down even further.

The story in fallout 4 is garbage. Obsidian made the only fallout with a decent story since fallout 3, new vegas, so they'll be fine. The only reason the outer worlds even exists is because Bethesda couldn't figure out how to make a good fallout sequel.

Well said man, couldn't agree more. It is a complete joke that any legitimate criticisms are just immediately written off now. Anyone who criticizes something is instantly labeled as a "hater" or a bigot/racist/sexist/misogynist /chauvinist, etc. Unless you criticize someone white and male and then you can say whatever you want.

SJWs, virtue signaling and rampant hypocrisy on key issues are all ruining movies and games. It was much better when Resident Evil 5 ...

You're beyond naïve if you think anything other than sales was the real reason they made that commercial. Selling the idea is worthless, all that matters is how many computers are sold as a result. I'm sure the Apple marketing execs were all sitting around saying "as long as they get the idea!"

You're 100 percent right. It's ridiculous to include a mediocre game that sold poorly on a top 3 list of games that "defined" the generation. Defined it for who? This one writer? Especially when he couldn't even be bothered to explain WHY a huge letdown like Control should be on any "best of" list when it failed commercially and underwhelmed critically.

Remedy has lost it. First Quantum Break, now Control. They're becoming the next Rare ...

This is the same crew that did Origins though so set your expectations low.

I'm interested in the Alan Wake expansion but the story for the main game was garbage. Poorly written, incredibly dry monologues from characters just explaining the world and the horribly convoluted story. No memorable characters whatsoever. Remedy has really fallen far since Max Payne 1 and 2 and Alan Wake. Maybe they can redeem themselves with the expansion.

The shooting is great in Control and the game looks really good but the map is atrocious, there's tons of b...

Arkham knight was extremely mediocre compared to Asylum and Arkham City. The batmobile/tank thing was way overdone and pretty unnecessary. I wonder why it was so much worse, a key person from the first two games must have left.

Origins wasn't even interesting enough to finish, makes sense it was from another developer. Was the multiplayer garbage too? Seems like that was a waste of time and resources since I've never heard anyone talk about it.

"Intellectually dishonest"? For stating an opinion about a spiderman game? How pretentious. You did get defensive and overreact over nothing. You sound like you're 12.

You're a joke, he created it. Everything in the prequels is a million times better than anything that hack abrams did. At least they had new ships, planets, enemies etc. Everything about the new trilogy is forgettable garbage.

Can we please just get a game trilogy that Lucas oversees based on his discarded ideas? JJ Abrams and all the writers he worked with are hacks, get someone actually talented to write the story

Literally the biggest install size in all of gaming and you say everyone is wrong to criticize it. Based on what, your vast experience as a developer? Please. Prove what you're saying or GTFO

Max Payne 3 is definitely one of the most underrated games ever; the multiplayer was incredible and the story had a great tone and some really memorable quotes and set pieces. (The nightclub, office building, the stadium, airport, etc.)

The shooting was excellent, the slowmo was done perfectly and the graphics were fantastic. Also most importantly they really nailed Max's character. It would have been nice if more of the campaign was set in New York and there were some ...

Notice how I didn't say anything about Abby, I liked her. And instead of responding to what I said with anything intelligent you just talk about how its going win game of the year. Yeah okay, and it should, but characters like Bill and Marlena from the first game were still more interesting than Manny or Lev or Mel.

That makes a lot more sense, it just would have been cool if she talked more instead of always whispering "oh whats this?what's that?" We get it she grew up sheltered and isolated but it doesn't tell you anything else about her personality and I just didn't find her that interesting as a result.

The people you encountered in the first last of us like Bill and Sam were much more compelling, the characters in last of us 2 aren't bad they just seem s...

Both of those characters and almost all of the new secondary characters were unfortunately pretty forgettable and underwritten. Everyone you met in the first last of us was more interesting. Manny, Mel, Lev, Deena and Yara were all really bland and I didn't care about any of them. Owen and Jesse were okay but that's about it.

Lev especially was just not interesting and that opinion is completely based on the lame things she says like "What's a quarter?&quo...
