Who to say the next Gen Xbox won't be released earlier or at the same time as PS5 and also be more powerful? The OG Xbox was launch later than the PS2 and the Xbox 360 was launched before the PS3. Don't jump the gun yet. All we know is the products that have been announced so far, the Scorpio will be be the most powerful.
Because maybe both the OG PS4 and PS4 Pro have no UHD blu-ray drive and the Pro doesn't do many native 4K games so it is more like current PS4 owners are comparing if it is worth it to upgrade. That is totally different than trying to compare two competing product from two different brand.

Scorpio plays all current, future Xbox One games and uses the same accessories so if Scorpio is next gen, then so is PS4 Pro. Scorpio is a mid-gen console just like the PS4 Pro regardless of how some of you are spinning it.
A copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 for Xbox one works on both Xbox One and Scorpio just like a copy of RDR2 for PS4 works on both PS4 and PS4 Pro.

Even if you count the PS3 as being more powerful than the Xbox 360, about 80% of the same games ran better on the 360. The current PS4/Pro is the only one that Sony has the lead in specs that are shown in the games for any generation but that will all be gone come next Fall as well.
I found it weird to that they are comparing a new, more powerful version of the PS4 to the current Xbox One. The original Xbox came out later than the PS2, the PS3 came out a year later than the Xbox 360, and those were their respective comparison. The Scorpio should be the one that should be comparable to the PS4 Pro regardless if it is a year late just like the previous generations' consoles comparison.

There will always be spin and saltiness by some people here when things are not in their favor. The mods are just the latest topic. They should be mad at Sony for the restrictions instead of downplaying it on another console.
UHD disc can make a big difference for Scorpio games and is a possibility that it will be incorporated for games by MS. For example, Red Dead Redemption 2 can come in both UHD blu-ray and a regular blu-ray version. With the UHD disc version having extra space to allow higher texture for 4K all on a single UHD disc and is made specifically for Scorpio.
